Harry Winks is one Tottenham player that hasn’t been seen as an ideal Jose Mourinho player.
He was one of the first players that lost their place in the team when the Portuguese manager was named as the replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
He was then reinstated following an injury to Moussa Sissoko, but he is now back among the reserves this season.
The midfielder is an accomplished player and that explains why he still has a place in the England national team.
However, his situation at Spurs might make him miss out on Euro 2021, and Football Insider is now claiming that he may leave in January.
The report claims that the club is bracing themselves for the midfielder to ask for a mid-season transfer.
It claims that Spurs expect his current situation to make him look for a move away and they are preparing a response.
If he doesn’t get a winter transfer, a summer move might still happen if things stay the same.
The anticipated fixture congestion that might happen at the start of the new year could force the club to keep hold of him and it is also a period that he may yet see more action.

I don’t think Levy will be jumping the gun to sell players in this particular climate. Also, Levy will want to see where we go under Jose before culling players like Winks and even Dele to an extent. I can see loans away at the very most for the time being, if they need to leave to play in January.
So far so good this season but the season is long, and we aren’t the only team with good players and a good manager, believe it or not.
I think we’ll squeeze top four and possibly win some kind of trophy. I think any talk of a title challenge are more than slightly premature, Jose has even said this himself.
Jose was backed to a point this summer but to earn the right to any fundamental squad shaping Levy will want to see real progress over this season.
Is he considering his England place ahead of staying at the only club he has known from his boyhood , seems a bit drastic to want a move mid season, I can’t see him wanting that, he is Spurs through and through.
Agreed. Would be a shame to lose him especially as he’s clearly Spurs through and through and one of the few players to have come through from the Academy and reached international level. Don’t think a move will happen mid-season with so many games, but maybe they’ll be willing to let him go next Summer otherwise the likes of the more promising Skipp and White won’t have an obvious route to the first team squad.
Winks played 31 PL games last season, more than any other year ,19 under Mourinho. With the league,FA cup,Carabeo cup and Europa League there will be plenty of games and a greater need to use the whole squad the further we go in the competitions.Joe Rodon will want to play for Wales at the Euros and I can’t see him asking for a transfer if he doesn’t start playing every week for Spurs, the same with Winksy,he knows he’s not first choice at Spurs and has a better chance to win something this season as a squad player at Tottenham.
