Tottenham Hotspur secured a much-needed victory last night as they trounced Red Star Belgrade 5-0 in the Champions League.
It was only our fourth win from 13 matches this season – the first in four outings – and got our qualification for the knockout stages back on track.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min bagged two goals apiece with Erik Lamela completing the scoring. Tanguy Ndombele produced his best performance in a Spurs shirt to date and Giovani Lo Celso made his return from injury.
The only caveat to all of these positives is the fact that Red Star were pants.
Regardless, though, the players were able to dig into their ‘Good Twitter Templates’ folder, for the first time in a while, for the post-match reaction…

Dele Alli made successive starts for the first time this season and floated between a deeper and more advanced role which gave the midfield a good balance and made the absence of Christian Eriksen a non-factor.
Very happy to find the way back to victory in front of our fans! We must keep the good ones demonstrated tonight and continue to work to maintain this momentum. Thanks to all our fans who never gave up on us #COYS #MS17 #UCL pic.twitter.com/oo24k4TOnX

We never gave up on you either, Moussa. :/
Although, this seems a bit premature to suggest the fans are back on side. Red Star made it easy for us and upcoming trips to Liverpool and Everton could prove this to be a false dawn. We haven’t turned a corner yet.
Amazing night! 3 points + clean sheet. Thank you for your support!!

First clean sheet of the season for our new No.1!
Spurs legend Robbie Keane and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings, Kane’s new England teammate, congratulated the striker on the result following his Instagram post.
Best not get to anymore finals then. It’s awfully disruptive. Imagine what winning one would do?? No danger of that luckily.
WTF how about not fucking off whoring yourselves around the USA and staying put and getting proper practice! You only yourseleves to blame
I would not bet on us getting anything at Anfield. If we win or get a point the Levy brigade will be arguing that we are back on track, and if we lose then…well…they are the best so its expected. Personally anything short of spanking Liverpool will not be enough to over ride the points lost to relegation fodder and/or from leading (2-0 a couple of times). 3 points at the best team is still only 3 points, I would rather had got the 8 or so points we have dropped. You cant live in the past though, so going forwards, I will accept…if I have to…a loss this weekend, but after that, we should not lose again until January, and we should be looking to win almost every game in the league.
