Spanish giants join Tottenham in race to sign striker at huge discount

By Bruce Grove -

Noticias de Gipuzkoa is reporting that Barcelona is now interested in signing Tottenham target, William Jose.

The Brazilian has emerged as a target for Tottenham as they search for a new striker in this transfer window.

He is one of Real Sociedad’s most important players and they have him tied down to a contract with a release clause worth 70 million euros.

The report, however, claims that they will be open to selling him for around 30 million euros this summer.

Spurs haven’t made an official approach for him yet and they might be beaten to his signature by Barcelona.

It reports that Barcelona still wants to sign Lautaro Martinez or Memphis Depay, but if they miss out on signing either of them, they will move for Jose instead.

Jose, 28, has been at Sociedad since 2016 and he scored 11 league goals in 37 games for the Spaniards last season.

Harry Kane showed again at the weekend why he is the most important striker at Tottenham.

He set up four goals for Son Heung-Min and he scored one for himself, if he can stay fit, Spurs will have fun.

But in the event of an injury, they will need a striker to get them the goals and assists that he provides.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs will make their move for Jose soon enough.
