Sources: Levy working on a Gareth Bale loan deal

By The Boy -

Just when we thought we were out, they pulled us back in… The hunt for a José Mourinho type striker may be over. It is my understanding from a source close to the club that Daniel Levy is doing his absolute upmost to bring Gareth Bale back to Tottenham this summer.

This is not a drill and the window of opportunity to get an agreement hammered out is absolutely there, however only if all parties concerned want to. The opportunity for Real Madrid, in particular, to scupper matters is absolutely there.

The structure as I am given to understand it, is that Spurs would be offering Los Blancos an opportunity to both remove the troublesome Welsh golfer from the Bernabéu, and simultaneously cut Real’s wage obligation to the player, if Levy were to take a sizeable share of the burden. Quite what Bale’s agent would make of such a move, also remains to be seen.

However, the ball is almost entirely in Real Madrid’s court. Given the numerous issues there have been, and the eye-watering salary Bale is on, certainly on one level, it would make sense to ship the 31-year-old back to England – and ideally to N17.

Spot on. Even if we pay half of this loser’s wages (and I’m not talking about trophies, I’m referring to his attitude) we could fund three top class players who actually care about what they do over what they earn.
Move along, nothing to see here.

Please can we all just agree that if nothing happens this time, we all never speak of re-signing Bale ever again. The annual bale rumour fiesta is getting boring now.

In any case, do we really want him?
IMO he doesn’t care about football anymore, is happy to sit on the bench and collect his ludicrous salary, and the prospect of having that weasel of an agent he has anywhere near our club again makes me feel ill.

If we can find 300k / week for bale, why on earth could we not finance moves for younger, hungrier players like Grealish?

He’s a match winner.. It would lift the players and everyone in the club.. Kane would be far more likely to stay.. With Bale we have a better chance of winning… The positives of signing any world class player (apart from Mr Bitey Suerez maybe) far outweight the negatives…… If Maureen was offered Bale the man from N17 would say yes.

I’m hoping Dele can pull it back. He deserves another year then I’d get rid if no improvement… Would love Bale more than anyone. Would Madrid really keep paying him to play elsewhere? Over a million a month in such trying times. 12 million a year. The Adebayor scenario but on another level…. If Scrooge brings Bale home right now then that would be a statement.. Any signing of that calibre is needed.

Real Madrid need him don’t they?

He would play as any one of the front four and crucially would be a far superior stand in for Kane than either Sonny or Moura. You could also use him as a left wingback. I think he would fit Maureen’s tactics.

If he came we’d be overstocked with players to play in the three behind Kane. Dele, Sonny, Moura, Bergwjin.

If we gat Bale and he stays fit we have a real chance of returning to the top 4, without an addition of his calibre I have strong doubts…

Step it up Levy, even with a gimmick signing like this, just do SOMETHING you boring man!! 😂

By all accounts Bale is happy living in Madrid, and his family are happy, kids in school etc, so I don’t see him uprooting and playing Premier League football where the games now come every two or three days and the scrutiny is relentless.

This is the best most entertaining Spurs blog out there. You don’t pay for it and you don’t have to read it.

I hope everything isn’t riding on this. We need a striker and I still think Milik would be a good addition regardless. Bale can play centre forward but he’s not the target man that we need in Kane’s absence.

Wouldn’t it be oh so familiar if we had a “close but no cigar” scenario with Bale and then ended up with no one. We don’t need another Dybala/Moutinho/Rivaldo… we need players through the door.

You’re so full of it. You have about as many sources in the club as I do. Which is zero if you needed any clarification. Is this the same source that told you the situation with Ndombele and the club was beyond saving and he refuses to train or play? This site has become a news aggregator or mostly yourself spouting absolute made up nonsense for hits.

Bale’s international performances give me hope, he’s certainly not surrounded by Galacticos in that situation…and he rolls up his sleeves and plays pretty well for them. Surrounded by better players but without the Madrid circus we just might see the best of him if he rocks up at Spurs.

Could be an expensive disaster though don’t get me wrong.

I think you’ve nailed it. The feel good factor would be close to zero with no fans…

An interesting development. However, bearing in mind Bale is now 31, injury prone and a player whose commitment to football must surely be in question, at this stage of his career, I am not convinced, even on a loan deal, that this is such a great idea for team chemistry.

Is Bale still a world class talent? … of course he is … but does he still have the hunger, the desire and the right mental attitude both to play in Mourinho’s system and for the dogfight that is every game in the Premier League? That is much more uncertain.

I would feel a lot more positive about this potential development in a normal season, where the fantastic reception Gareth would get from the crowd would surely lift both his game and the team. In the sterile atmosphere of pandemic football, which is more akin to an operating theatre, such an advantage would be lost.

I would be surprised, but I feel like we need something big. Could be a game changer

Would be nice to have a real game changer at the club,a proven winner that doesn’t hide on special occasions. Just not sure Bale is the player we need, his injury record is simply not good. If he wants to play then on his day I am not sure that there are many players I would want more. I would say though Real will want us picking up at least half, and I can’t see that, not for a player that plays 30% of the games in a season.

Also not fully sure he fits in a Jose side, or a position we really need filling. Feels like buying a Ferrari when your car works fine but your house is falling down.
