Matt Law published a piece last night for The Telegraph which will have sent a shiver down the spine of every right-minded Spurs fan on the planet. Tottenham fans seem to exist in a maelstrom of bickering, yet the thought of losing Harry Kane would surely being greeted as a universally bad idea.
A source close to the club has told the Harry Hotspur blog that the suggestion Kane was reviewing his situation was not true, and branded the piece by Mr Law as “opportunistic and unhelpful”.
Harry Hotspur understands that Harry Kane’s sole focus is upon completing his post-op rehabilitation, returning to regular first team club duties and doing his best for England in the Euros.
Looking at the 26-year-old’s position as objectively as one can, the question of silverware – or lack thereof – is bound to begin to weigh heavy on Harry’s mind, Harry’s a professional.
However, the mood within the club is that whilst the Pochettino project failed, Levy’s decisive action of installing the seasoned Mourinho was not undertaken lightly. Furthermore, Harry Hotspur was told that the club are more than aware of the pressure to deliver success on the pitch.
Quite what the long term future holds for Kane remains to be seen, but for now, it would appear that a spot of turbulence at Spurs, plus the impending transfer speculation that always surrounds big tournaments, was just too much to resist for Mr Law.
In a twisted kind of way, I hope he goes. Maybe his departure will be the penny drop moment to ALL Spurs fans that ENIC & Levy are what’s wrong with our club.
i envy insiders here who have intimate knowledge of what kane is going to do..what levys next fiendish plan is..and even have inside knowledge on the F.A ‘s plan to “throw us an fa cup win” if CL isnt attained….it must be great being a conspiracy theorist and a clairvoyant at the same time…..
that was genuinely funny Tappaspur…i liked it
“investment? I’d tell him I’ve invested a million a month in you and you’re hardly ever here. Now get Back to rehab again and don’t leave the f ing country
As Mandy Rice-Davies said “they would say that wouldn’t they”.
It wouldn’t bother Levy,he would only look at the return.Lovely jubbly.
Kane should rightly ask,OK show me the investment to convince me to stay.If he is as driven for success as people claim, everyone would understand him leaving.
It will to those with sense
Wouldn’t a source close to the club be obliged to deny the truth or assertion?
Kane’s sole focus on rehab, playing for Spurs and England is not in any way mutually exclusive to considering offers should they come in?
Would Kane realistically believe our recruiting history ie no back up striker, Tin Tin fiasco, Googlegate, Dybala, Bruno ad nauseum is an honest guide to the future?
After 20 years we are now to believe that the club are more than aware of the pressure to deliver on the field?
O K, I agree to kill the messenger and assert that Harry Kane has decided to honour the 4 remaining years of his contract.
He’s sourceless.
If he takes you with him it’ll soften the blow.
Off topic. I was chatting with a close friend of mine yesterday who is part of the corporate world at Anfield. Interestingly he had a tour around both home and away dressing rooms yesterday. He said both are different in that the away one is designed to be uncomfortable, seats small, walls at angles and the vent shafts go up to the stand so the noise levels from the home fans can be heard. Its been specifically designed to piss off the away team. I wonder if Levy also was so cunning? He said the CEO Peter Moore (Fenway Sports) was adamant that the proportion of season ticket holders to corporate seats would remain around 60/40 to ensure noise levels remain after the capacity is increased and ticket prices remain the same. Success on the pitch filters down. As for THFC a subsidiary of a property development conglomerate I can only see the focus on the pitch being a second thought.
Harry won’t need to leave Spurs anyway. Once we have our own NFL franchise, he’ll probably sign on to pursue a lucrative NFL career.
He’s at it again
He’s at it again
Matthew Law
He’s at it again!
The words “opportunistic and unhelpful” are a disservice to describing something that is utter bollocks. I bet he can’t give a source for his inside info, not without getting sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
