Some Spurs fans could be back in the stadium by September

By The Boy -

International football could be a useful barometer for what might follow trickle down to the Premier League, and guide English football’s slow return to business as usual.

The COVID-19 pandemic has cost all clubs an absolute fortune, and Spurs fans need look further than the recent £175million Bank of England loan to see just how effected Spurs were. Daniel Levy’s model for the new arena was entirely focused around maximizing both the footfall and spend of visitors. Cruelly, in March of this year, both were indefinitely denied him.

Looking ahead, the British government is slowly leading the nation out of lockdown and back to some – as yet not quite fully understood – semblance of normality.

Charlie Wyatt of The Sun reports in an exclusive that England fans could be admitted to the stadium to watch Iceland, but the process would probably rule out most supporters that work conventionally. After being tested for Covid-19 on arrival at the airport – would have to quarantine in their hotel rooms for between 4 and 6 days before being allowed to go to a match or to local bars and restaurants. Which is quite a commitment for a Nations’ League game.

FC Copenhagen currently let 9,000 fans in for their League matches inside their 38,000 seater stadium – which would translate into about 14,000 fans being admitted into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, if permission were granted.

Understandably, any plans to reintroduce fans is complex and a football blog is not where one comes to discuss the r. rate.

That said, if footballing chiefs were to approve one or two more systems that allowed fans in, it could well give English football the springboard it so vitally needs.

Points ease pain. As long as we cross the checkered line/flag first I don’t care how we look. It HAS come to this, (you can blame whoever you want) Win anyhow is now the name of the race.

Can’t wait to get back to the new lane to give the old fluctuating emotions a run out and get me roar on. Oh and the spicy wings, cheesy chips with a pint of local brew. COYS🌚

Have to ask if you would risk your life and health, and that of your loved ones to watch this lot. lol.

Much like remote working, I wonder how many stadium faithfulls are now willing to simply watch on TV?
