Tottenham looking to bring 27-year-old back to the club in a bargain move

By Saikat -

Tottenham are interested in re-signing former academy graduate Kyle Walker-Peters.

The North London club are looking at ways to reinforce their squad ahead of next season. They want to bring in a new right-back and according to a report by talkSPORT, Tottenham want to bring Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club after selling him four years back.

Walker-Peters came up the ranks at Spurs and was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2017. While he was a part of their senior team for a few years, he failed to establish himself as a regular starter and ended up joining Southampton on a short loan in the winter of 2020. He had an impressive start and the Saints ended up making the move permanent in the following summer window.

He has been a consistent performer for Southampton over the years. The 27-year-old right-back has featured in 44 matches for the English second-division team this term and has contributed towards six goals. While he is an integral part of their setup, Walker-Peters could still be on the move in the summer.

His contract with them runs out next season and according to the report, if they fail to return to the English top flight via the Championship play-offs, they will be forced to sell him. His contract situation means the English international could be available for a bargain price.

Spurs are considering re-signing him as he is exactly the type of profile their manager wants. Ange Postecoglou is looking for an attacking full-back who can cover for Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie and they could end up making a move to bring their former academy graduate back to the club.
