‘So good’ – Conte signing has wowed Ian Wright with his performance vs Everton

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 1-1 draw against Everton in the Premier League on Monday night.

The north London giants dominated the contest from start to finish but they failed to increase their advantage and put the game to bed after taking an early lead.

Everton made the most of their vulnerabilities and scored a stunning last-gasp equaliser to grind out a vital point in the end.

Quite a few Tottenham players attracted criticism because of their performances against Everton, but popular pundit and Arsenal legend Ian Wright heaped praise on the Tottenham star Ivan Perisic.

The 34-year-old Croatian international impressed with his performance against Everton. His ability to influence the game and work relentlessly on and off the ball wowed the former Premier League striker.

Wright said on his podcast: “Can I say, with [Ivan] Perisic, I love Perisic man.

“Left foot, right foot, he put in some crosses yesterday and you think to yourself, ‘wow man’.

“How old is Perisic now? I’m not joking he’s still so good man.”

Antonio Conte signed the experienced Croatian on a free transfer at the start of the season. The Italian manager worked with him during their time together at Inter Milan. Conte’s presence at Tottenham was crucial to the transfer and it will be interesting to see if Perisic tries to push for a move away from the Premier League club at the end of the season.

Tottenham sacked Conte recently after an explosive outburst following a draw against Southampton in the Premier League.

The north London giants have been linked with a number of managers recently but they have decided to put Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason in charge of the first team on an interim basis.
