Tottenham has had a bright start to this Premier League campaign, and with a top manager like Jose Mourinho, the Lilywhites title chances are up for debate.
They haven’t won a trophy since 2008 and that is one of the reasons why they have made Jose Mourinho their manager.
The Portuguese genius has won three Premier League titles among other top trophies and there is no doubt that he is the man for the job if you want to win silverware.
This season’s Premier League has been unpredictable and Spurs are currently third on the league table at this early stage.
However, former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher doesn’t think that Tottenham is one of the teams that can win the title this year.
He claimed that Spurs may have made a fine start to the campaign, but only Liverpool and Manchester City should be considered contenders.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Pitch to Post podcast, Carragher said: “I still can’t envisage anyone besides Liverpool or Man City winning the league. I just can’t see that.
“I know Tottenham have started really well and I hope they have a great season and there are more challengers, but I just can’t see anybody else lifting that league title besides the big two of the last few years.
“I’d been very strong putting Liverpool as favourites for the title, but for the injury to Virgil van Dijk – not just one of Liverpool’s top players but one of the top players in the Premier League.
“And if something similar would have happened to, say, Kevin De Bruyne for Man City, who is their top man, I think you’d say the same for City. I think it makes for an even more interesting race, no doubt about that.”
100% they’d better enjoy it while it lasts. 🌚
Congrats to Southampton reaching the summit for the first time in their history .
I fancy us against any team that wants to play
From after the International break to mid/late December will be a telling month or so with a run of tricky fixtures but should THFC come out of it still in touching distance of top, there’s no reason why not.
In a world where anything can happen…….
COYS
Liverpool and Leicester drop points (conceivable) and we don’t we’re top going into international break.
