Sidelined Spurs man ready to ask for move if his situation does not change

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham’s ascension to the top of the Premier League table has come at a cost to some players.

When Jose Mourinho was made the club’s manager, the smart players will have known that he is coming to help the club win trophies which meant they had to sit up or they would struggle to get into his team.

Dele Alli probably didn’t think about that too much and he has been sidelined for much of the season as the club continues to improve.

Another player that has struggled to get playing time recently is Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian started this season as a first-choice centre back for the club, however, he has now been dropped in the last couple of games and even the injury to Toby Alderweireld hasn’t helped him.

Eurosport reports that the Colombian will hold talks with the club about his present situation and that he is surprised at how his position has turned around this season.

It claims that if the talks don’t yield a positive outcome that changes his situation, he will be ready to ask to leave the club.

Spurs have Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga as their other centre back options, but they might be forced into the transfer market if Sanchez leaves.

Another stupid dig at José. Trying to make out my clubs manager is stupid like you. If I knew what you looked like and I saw you at the lane I’d give you a dig, real fkin talk. There’s no way you could get away with talking to me the way you have in real life

Sanchez will go down in the history of the club as an expensive flop. If we are lucky we will fool some other club into giving us our money back.

I thought he looked the business when he first arrived, he now looks out of his depth and error prone.

We need a top class challenger to Toby and Eric – Rodon and Japhet aren’t that yet. Get rid asap and splash £50m+ on a replacement and we really will mean business.

Out on loan to get consistent game time? Or sell him and get the finished article in January like Liverpool did with Van Dijk? He looks pretty clueless and consistently makes mistakes when he’s pressured…but you could say that about a few of our lot.

I’m not sure where this notion that Sanchez is no longer fit for purpose comes from. Surely he can be coached back to form?
