Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The Welsh international defender was on loan at Rennes last season and he is expected to leave Tottenham permanently this summer.
The defender is not a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s first-team plans and it is better for him to move on in search of regular playing time. Rodon needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that option. It makes sense for both parties to go separate ways.
According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Postecoglou has reportedly frozen him out during pre-season.
The 25-year-old defender has not been part of the Tottenham practice matches in Australia, Thailand and Singapore. The report claims that Rodon ‘has not even had a chance’ and he has been ‘seemingly frozen out’.
It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham can find a permanent suitor for him.
The Welsh international will be hoping to get his career back on track with regular football and a move away from the Premier League club would be ideal for all parties. Meanwhile, Tottenham have been linked with a number of central defenders in recent weeks and Rodon will fall further down the pecking order if he stays at the club.
Spurs are reportedly looking at Edmond Tapsoba and Micky van de Ven this summer.
