Season closer triggers Harry Kane exit talk on MOTD|video

By The Boy -

Players need to be sold, in order to create the continued Mourinho salvage job, but it is challenging to believe that Levy will allow the Portuguese to go to the market when the prices are likely to be so low.

Tottenham’s fans are bound to get angsty over this line of questioning, but the fact remains, if Harry Kane is World Class, then why is his footballing appetite sated with meaningless junk awards?

Golden boots and Player Of The Month Awards are probably quite exciting when you’re starting out, but Harry Kane is 27-years-old tomorrow, and his domestic career just took a nose dive, from Champions League to the Europa.

Indeed, it makes sense to let Jose have a full season, perhaps without injuries to his squad, before making any tough decisions.

While that process unwinds, Kane is spending his peak years at a club that isn’t going anywhere.

So we sell Kane and don’t pay the going rate wages for quality players. Sounds like a great plan, the future’s bright! 😂

Kane is much more important to us than Coutinho ever was to Liverpool.

Even if he decides to leave (and I wouldn’t blame him if he did) I bet Gollum would just buy another load of N’Whatevah’s from France and pass that off as an improvement in the squad. Just look at how well Chelsea is investing. Look at what Liverpool did, there’s your blueprint for success, but Levy know so much better than them doesn’t he. I hope Jose can persuade him to stay as all the naysayers said he couldn’t play under Jose, but that’s been proven so wrong.

Got to giggle reading some of these morons that think this summer we will do this and that. Let’s look closely. We didn’t get top players on when we were in the CL. Now we are in the second rate version, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we will be told people won’t come because they want CL. That won’t stop us being linked with some top players for the nxt few weeks just another hunch I have. As for the absolute pasting that poch is getting off some of these people, shame on you. Of course he’s gone, but if I could have had anyone instead it would have been a phone call to wolves for me. All the garbage about poch bought in this man and that man, all I will say is who bought gedson fernandes? So every manager all the way back to jol get option 5 off the list, and throw in Jose’s comment that bergwijn wasn’t his first choice, looks like he is getting the same, yet poch got his way? Behave and give your heads a wobble

IF this club was run as a football club, the premise would be to achieve success on the pitch , you would not only make sure Kane stays but you would also buy another striker, worthy of competing for a place beside him, or even to replace him now and again. As that is clearly not the case, we all know what Kane wants to happen with Spurs, but he has to work out if it’s really going to happen, and then decide what is best for him, and his growing family.

Which surely puts the onus on having a proper scouting network, the kind that knows everything there is to know about the player as a player and a person. The proof we don’t have that is in the fact that we don’t even k ow who owns half the players we are after. Dybala last year just the latest. If you believe all that…

Bale’s form hasn’t dipped, it’s one onion smelling pig ignorant french bar steward who refuses to play him.

Perhaps HK has become our own version of Matt le Tissier. Big fish little pond. Knows he’s always first choice even when not 100% fit.

I think it more likely Son will leave for pastures new before HK vacates the premises.

I think you have raised a good point as to how ambitious is Kane? Granted, he has a young family and is very settled where he is, but are the limits of his ambition to spend all his career at Spurs, to become all time top scorer, yet win nothing? He does not strike me as unambitious, but I am sure that he is intelligent enough to realise that under Enic and the master negotiator, Levy, there is a slim to no chance that we will win the PL title or the CL. Nobody could begrudge him pastures new.

So Vertongen and Vorm have left the club.It will be interesting to see whether both or either of them are replaced.Letting Jan’s contract run down is another example of the dealings of the master negotiator. And people say he’s not worth his 6M a year, what do they know.
This would of course be in addition to the replacement of players who aren’t good enough and positions that need filling as a priority.Let’s see how this all pans out in the coming 6 or 7 weeks.

You have to be careful giving out massive contracts ,if the players form dips three examples Bale,Ozil and currently the Chav’s keeper Kepa on £170,000 per week ,his transfer fee cost £71m.They don’t fancy him anymore but is costing them £20m a season in wages and transfer fee, they will find it impossible to recoup or maybe even to shift him.Hudson-Odoi was also given too much £180,000 and now Abraham wants on par with him to sign an extension.

I for one would have no problem with Kane if he decides to move on,he’s given loyal service for the last 5 years and it’s got him precisely nowhere.I would have more respect for him leaving to join a club with real ambition than staying with us treading water.
He’s a very driven individual and he wants to win everything that’s going.Sadly that would not be with us.Why would he waste another season just to see how things pan out when he will then be 28.
I agree with James below that he is very unlikely to go abroad,no disrespect but he is unlikely to learn another language. His command of English is not great.City would be a great fit as Aguero is nearing the end of his career at the top level and I suspect Pep doesn’t entirely trust Jesus. His stats are impressive, but he is ideal as a backup.

I’d advise Harry to see what ambition the board show in this transfer window, and make his decision based on that. Of course discount Danny is going to use the pandemic as an excuse not to buy, but that’s just a smokescreen as it has always been the case with him and ENIC, even when we were PL title contenders and CL finalists under Poch, he wasn’t supported. Unless some true ambition is shown this summer then he should move on to pastures new, Kyle Walker has the sense to see the writing on the wall and did that successfully. The lad deserves better. Jose is not a miracle worker either, we may have scraped into the ropey by the skin of our teeth but the fact is our performances have been mostly sadly lacking, and we’ve looked average at best.

I think City will. They need to catch the bin dippers up, and aguero as great as he has been isn’t quite the man and the best about is harry. It’s a natural choice for me. He would get ten hat tricks a season there I think

Just read that properly. Apologies. Yep agree about wages but the only 2 currencies players deal in are trophies and cash. We all know it’s obscene what they get but if you don’t joint the party and pay the going rate, we can’t offer trophies which leaves us not offering either unfortunately

Yes but Liverpool then invested all of the money made back into the team. They had a plan and knew who they wanted. Now hopefully things change, but recent history says that won’t happen in n17

It’s all down to what Harry wants at the end of the day. Ideally I’d like him to give Jose a full season, but a lot will depend on our transfer activity this summer and where he sees the club heading.

Levy will refuse to sell until the price is right and Harry will still score goals in the meantime, but I’d hate to see his potential exit become a drawn out, sour affair. I doubt any us of begrudge Harry attempting to realise his dreams.

Liverpool have done alright since selling Continho their best player at the time, since signed VVD & Allison.Chelsea still able to attract players even after selling Hazard. Massive wages is a good attraction for the Chav’s.

Harry’s ambition is to win the Premier League and Champions League I think and at the end of next season we’ll see how much closer we are. He will make his decision then. He has a very young family and though it would suit certain people I don’t see him going abroad.

Correct. What kind of players do you attract when you sell your star????

Levy should have grasped the nettle when the team were flying a couple of seasons ago. Instead he allowed the whole thing to go to seed with his continued policy of neglect.

The idea of needing to sell Kane in order to rebuild should be abhorrent to anyone who is actually ambitious about where the club are going. Which incidentally is nowhere…
