“Sack Mourinho” Another talkSPORT caller who doesn’t understand how to watch a football match|video|opinion

By The Boy -

Was José Mourinho caught fibbing when he told the press the Spurs boys didn’t follow his instructions against Wolverhampton Wanderers? Well, as I made the point in this week’s #KeepOtTottenham podcast, if we look at the substitutions, they don’t appear to be the work of a coach hunkering down for a one-nil win.

Indeed, the gaffer took of a defender, and brought on an attacker. Took Tanguy off because he was – as ever – pooped after an hour; and finally, swapped out the fatigued Sonny for another attacker.

Accusations laid at Mourinho’s door all come from the same place, an inability to move on from the failed Pochettino project, and a healthy side-serving of contempt for the Portuguese Pulis.

Klopp got 5 years and Mourinho gets just the one transfer window. Shameful stuff indeed.

A wing back is a variation of the full back, with a heavier emphasis on attack. Wing backs are typically used in a formation with three centre backs and are sometimes classified as midfielders… A wing back really is inbetween, blurring the lines.

That position is called a ‘wing back’ mate.

Josés been here a year and has done a great job. Next season you’ll see us attacking hard and defending hard.

“expectations ain’t being met? So you wouldn’t have taken 6 points off top and in all the cups (topping the EL group) before a ball was kicked? You think José doesn’t have a plan b? So he’s suddenly forgotten everything he knows? Makes me laugh when people say that. Do you think we’re always going to let teams have that much possession? Poch and José can’t be compared.

Man United have won 7 and drawn 2 of the last 9. Everton have won 4 in a row so it’s not a couple of wins. We need to win the next 4 as well

I must admit there was a sense of things coming together after the positive start, not sure about it now though.

When we win this game later we will go 3rd. Look, Everton and ManU were sliding in the wrong direction and look what 2 wins do for them. If we need one. Stop getting your undies in a wad. The leaders will drop points only a matter of time.

Harry, you are correct, but tell me at what point in the game was Reguilon is/was a defender. 3 at the back kinda make him a mid or a winger. What am i missing?

Even this season the scouse got smashed by villa 7-2. Drew with West Brom. Struggled against Brighton and Leeds.. Results are all over the shop with everyone right now.

He did start with 5 defenders. That makes no sense to me. We have enough of an attacking option to never really go on the defensive.

Paying someone 15m a year creates high expectations which aren’t being met. My concern is the tactics are outdated now and the top teams like Liverpool are happy to have 80 percent possession knowing that they will beat us. Like Poch, there is no plan b and plan a fails if Kane and Son aren’t on fire.

What’s worrying is that if the players aren’t following Mourinho’s instructions we are currently not very good as we have 2 points in 4 games and have struggled in all of them. The balance of the team is not right as we are getting overrun in midfield and have no outlet when we finally win the ball. The tactics were brilliant against City; they also appeared to be good against Arsenal but that may just have been because Arsenal had no cutting edge. In the last 4 games we have looked laboured and lacking in ambition. Tonight is vital to get back on track. We need to remain well organised but get higher up the pitch; move the ball far quicker and attack in numbers like we did when we broke against City. Mourinho was demonstrating that we can, with good tactics and togetherness, match the top teams but this is being negated by failing to beat the ‘lesser’ teams.

Remember that there was talk of giving Klopp the Sack 18 months into his contract and look what he has done?
