Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is reportedly close to securing a loan move to Italian club Genoa.
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham and Genoa have ‘reached an agreement’ for the loan transfer, and it is now up to the player to agree on personal terms with the Serie A side.
Romano took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the update. He posted:
“Genoa have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan.”
“Genoa now working to convince the player.”
“Spurs want to find solution for Ndombele by Friday but it’s up to the player now as Genoa made their best effort.”

Ndombele, who arrived at Tottenham in 2019 for a club-record fee of £63 million, has struggled to meet the high expectations placed on him. His performances have fallen short of impressing the various managers who have overseen the club during his tenure.
Ndombele spent the previous season on loan at Napoli, contributing to them winning the Serie A. And while Napoli was interested in securing his services on a permanent basis, the deal did not work out.
It was reported yesterday that PSG are considering a move for the French midfielder but it now appears that the Italian side are the favourites to land him if they can convince the player to make the move.
Given Ndombele’s struggles to adapt to English football and fully settle at Tottenham, a move away this summer could benefit all parties involved.
Tottenham would have preferred a permanent sale but they have found it hard so far to agree a permanent deal with any of the potential suitors.
With the deadline day looming Spurs could now be resigned to agree a loan deal which would take him off their payroll for another season.
