Rio Ferdinand says possible Spurs target doesn’t ‘wanna be’ at his current club

By Eddie Razo -

Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici came over from Juventus FC. The Italian club is known for exploring the free transfer market and landing a player that can play a significant role on their squad with no fee attached.

Fabrizio Romano spoke to Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE about potential future destinations for the player a couple of weeks ago. The transfer window specialist listed Tottenham as a possible destination due to Paratici’s love of free transfers.

“And then we’ll keep an eye again on Tottenham because… Fabio Paratici, he loves to move on free agents and so could be an opportunity,” Romano said.

On the latest episode of FIVE, Ferdinand revealed that Lingard would be looking for a fresh start when his contract expires in a couple of months. The English football pundit stated that the 29-year-old isn’t happy with his situation.

“Jesse’s situation… he don’t wanna be there,” said Ferdinand. “Simple as that. Loves Man United, but the situation has come out of the back of not getting a transfer, not getting the chance to go elsewhere and play games and start.

“I believe he deserves an opportunity when he came up from West Ham. This team weren’t playing well enough to keep him out; I don’t think.”

If it’s Tottenham or any club going after Lingard, they’ll be hoping to get the forward that appeared in 16 matches for West Ham United in 2020-21, where he scored nine goals and registered five assists during his loan stint.

Newcastle will offer a king’s ransom in wages, hopefully.
