Tottenham striker Richarlison is going to be out for long with the latest report claiming that that his current injury is more serious than initially feared.
Richarlison has missed 9 games since the start of the season after suffering an injury in training. He made a return against West Ham during Spurs’ 4-1 win, and then scored against AZ Alkmaar in his first start of the season.
But the Brazilian international then picked up yet another injury during their 4-1 win over Villa. He came on to replace Heung-min Son early in the second half, but did not last long as he was forced off with a hamstring injury later in the game.
While club insider Paul O’Keefe suggested that the injury will see him miss a minimum 4 weeks, the latest report from Trivela claims that the injury could be much more serious than initially feared.
The Brazilian outlet claims the former Everton man has a muscle injury on his right thigh, but there’s no damage to his tendon – which normally takes 2 to 6 weeks to recover from. However, it adds that this is not the case with Richarlison.
Citing sources from inside Spurs’ medical team, the report claims that the striker’s injury is ‘more serious than initially anticipated’ and he’s ‘unlikely to play’ again for Tottenham this year.
While there is a slim chance that he could recover sooner, but the club are not expected to rush him back to avoid any more setbacks.
This will come as a huge boost for Tottenham who are really struggling with injuries for the second season in a row.
Young attacker Mikey Moore has also missed the past few games due to a virus and was not spotted in training ahead of the game against Roma either.
Meanwhile, at the back, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are both injured and to make things worse, earlier this week, their first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario also suffered an injury which will keep him out for a long time.
