Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has shared the latest on the injury sustained by Richarlison against Aston Villa and it is a major blow.
The Brazilian international picked up an injury during their 4-1 win over Villa. He came on to replace Heung-min Son early in the second half, but did not last long as he was forced off with a hamstring injury later in the game.
Richarlison has endured a difficult start to the new season, having missed out most of the games through various injuries.
The marquee signing of Dominic Solanke over the summer has also limited his playing time at the club, with the ex Bournemouth man establishing his place as the main centre-forward.
He missed 9 games since the start of the season after suffering an injury in training. He made a return against West Ham during Spurs’ 4-1 win, and then scored against AZ Alkmaar in his first start of the season.
Paul O’Keefe shares Richarlison blow
The fresh injury to the Brazilian will have left Tottenham frustrated. Ange confirmed today that the striker has suffered a hamstring injury, which could see him miss out action for a while.
He told the reporters ahead of the Thursday game (via Reuters):
“From the weekend, Richarlison unfortunately injured his hamstring, so I’m still getting the final information but I think he’ll be out for a while.”
And reputable club insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed that the player will be out for around four weeks.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share the update on the 27-year-old, O’Keefe said:
“Richarlison expected to miss a minimum 4 weeks with a hamstring injury. Cuti Romero will continue to be assessed with his minor toe injury ahead of the upcoming games.”

Injury woes continue for Tottenham
Tottenham’s injury woes continue, leaving them short of options in attack ahead of the match against Galatasaray. Richarlison will not be the only attacker to miss out, with Ange confirming that Mikey Moore and Timo Werner will also miss out.
He said:
“Timo Werner has been carrying a bit of a groin complaint, which is still there, so he didn’t travel and Mikey Moore picked up a bit of a virus yesterday so we’ve left him at home as well.”
Spurs have won all three of their Europa League games so far, sitting second in the table, level on points with leaders Lazio (9 points), while Galatasaray are unbeaten and two points behind in fifth.
The match against the Turkish giants will be a real test for Ange’s side, who will be forced to field a depleted side.
