Revealed – The striker that Tottenham tried to sign this summer

By Bruce Grove -

Mundo Deportivo via TeamTalk claims that Spurs made a move for Real Sociedad striker, Willian Jose and they were turned down.

The Lilywhites had a long search for a new striker this summer before they landed Carlos Vinicius from Benfica.

Jose Mourinho had made it clear from the start of the transfer window that he wanted another striker who will cover for Harry Kane.

They targeted the likes of Callum Wilson and Victor Osimhen who joined other teams instead.

Jose was another striker that they tried to sign in their bid to ensure they don’t play this entire campaign with Kane as their only striker.

The report claims that Sociedad was open to doing a deal over Jose, however, the Spaniards wanted only a permanent transfer.

Just like they eventually did with Vinicius, Spurs wanted to sign the Brazilian on an initial loan deal, but the La Liga side turned them down.

Jose was open to making the move to North London, but he wasn’t going to force his team to allow him to leave.

Sevilla and Marseille were two other teams that were rivalling Spurs for his signature, but he remained in Spain.
