Report: Unnamed Spanish club in talks with Tottenham for midfielder

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur will be attempting to offload some players who have no future in north London, and one of them is Tanguy Ndombele, who left on a loan deal to Olympique Lyonnais, but the French club won’t be keeping the player.

As a result, the midfielder will be returning to Spurs, but they hope to find a permanent deal to move on from the France international this summer. According to Telefoot’s Julien Maynard, an unnamed Spanish club has begun discussions with Tottenham over the 25-year-old.

Nonetheless, the French journalist adds that a departure for Ndombele is likely but doesn’t specify whether it would be on a permanent deal or if another loan will be in order.

The midfielder has a contract with Spurs until 2025, so it will take some selling on Spurs’ part to secure a permanent agreement considering his wages. Nonetheless, at this point, the north London club might take whatever they can to not have him around next season.

At Lyon, Ndombele made 11 appearances where he only recorded two assists for the Ligue 1 side.

He can’t play a holding role, he doesn’t defend well, has low work ethic, holds on to the ball for too long deep in his own half doing tricks that get him nowhere.. He’s a central attacking midfielder, lazy and inconsistent. Worse signing ever and the final nail in Botches coffin.
Inverted wingers can cross the ball. Koolio, Bale, Messi, Salah, Mane can all cross the ball. They can also cut in and shoot on their favourite foot. They’ve been causing chaos for decades, remember Pavel Nedved and Thierry Henry (at first) were inverted wingers.
Wing backs are supposed to be offensive AND defensive.
A midfielder scoring a few goals doesn’t make him a striker, but the way Sonny plays off Kane, you could say in attack he becomes the secondary striker. Kane plays as a false 9 and drops deep to pick up the ball and lay off to Sonny. It’s why they both have the record for goals and assists. Plus Sonny just won the golden boot.

Yeah. U suppose lf he every plays as holding mid, it might suite him. I do not get modern day football. Inverted wingers, cannot cross a ball, wingbacks are suppose to be offensive juggernaut and cannot defend. A midfield score a few goals and now he is a striker. Maybe it is me who need to get caught.
