Report: Tottenham would have the upper-hand on Arsenal for Man City star

Tottenham Hotspur will be keen on improving their forward group this summer to add some scoring depth behind Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. There are some candidates that the north London club could be keen on to provide this support.

According to CBS Golazo’s Ben Jacobs, if Raheem Sterling should leave Manchester City this summer, Tottenham would be ahead of Arsenal in a race between the two clubs.

Jacobs also states that the 27-year-old would like to play under Antonio Conte as his next manager if he was to make a move away from Manchester City.

Furthermore, Spurs have given Raheem Sterling guarantees about playing style and position. The left winger’s contract expires next summer, so Manchester City will have to consider moving on from him if there’s no contract extension.

Sterling has made 45 appearances this season, scoring 16 goals and recording seven assists. Should he leave the Etihad Stadium, it would be a significant pickup for Tottenham.

When it comes to a possible transfer fee, Transfermarkt puts his value at £77-million.

He can provide the service he currently gives to Kane at national level. None. He can do that from somewhere else. In an average team, he wouldn’t score many goals.

Absolute tosh on so many levels, firstly £77m – can I remind you who our chairman is? Secondly why on earth would Sterling leave a club that wins trophies for fun to come to us? Thirdly if the unthinkable actually happened and he did leave then he would want to go to a club that has CL football. About as likely as the Greens winning the next election.
