The January transfer window is now open, which means the players whose contracts expire in June can sign pre-contracts that kick in next season.
Meaning Tottenham Hotspur can pursue AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessié and according to ESPN, they’re ready to make him a lucrative offer.
The media outlet writes that Spurs hopes that the proposal they want to put on the table can get the 25-year-old to head to north London.
Kessié has failed to agree to an extension because both parties are far apart in the salary discussions. Milan’s latest offer is at €6.5million-a-year, according to ESPN; however, it’s not good enough for the midfielder. Furthermore, the network says Tottenham is ready to surpass that proposal.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is ready to approve a deal for the Ivory Coast international, given there would be no transfer fee involved. Manager Antonio Conte wants to build a spine, and Kessié appears to be the target to fill that role.
If it was just left to Conte and Paratici we’d sign plenty of good players, though I’m not to sure about Paratici tbh as he signed Royal and Gil and failed to bring in a striker and playmaker in the summer, though Romero was a good signing. Hopefully Conte will put him right. However it’s all pretty hopeless as Levy will stick his unwelcome oar in and kybosh everything as usual.
Happy New Year H and many thanks for holding it all togehter on the blog and your Youtube site.
New Year’s greetings to all on this site, contributors and commentators, who aren’t living in cloud cuckoo land [and there are very few left],I know we all give Conte our backing, the question is will Levy.We will find out in the next 30 days.
Not a chance will Levy outbid the other teams to get his signature.
nice idea but we all know the outcome, same with all the other free agents we have been linked with. Lots of very good players up for grabs as free agents, none of them will sign for us. We all have that unrealistic hope and then you remember Levy/Lewis
