Report: Tottenham joins four other clubs in pursuit of Genk’s prolific striker

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to add another striker to either replace Harry Kane or work with the 28-year-old. The north London-based club tried their best to land a forward this past summer, but a move for a player didn’t occur.

Despite reportedly striking out on players like Lautaro Martínez and Dušan Vlahović, Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici has a new target that he plans to pursue this January window.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham plans to join Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Southampton, and West Ham for Genk striker Paul Onuachu.

The report details that the Nigeria international is ready to take the next step in his career, and it appears as though he’s prepared to join a top-five league.

The 27-year-old has made 84 appearances for the Belgian side, scoring 56 goals, so Onuachu is a goal-scoring machine for Genk. When it comes to a possible cost, Transfermarkt puts the strikers’ value at €22-million.

I think that IS the second string… just because they have played in the first team doesn’t make them “first teamers”

They are all our second string now.. None of those are first choice.. Ndom before Dele.. Romero before Sanchez..Lucas before Stevey.. Reggy before Davies, Pierre before Lo celso..Skipp before Winks…. That game was worse than Zagreb, some of our previous first teamers have proven they’re not good enough for the seconds.. I’m not one to call for players heads, but I’ve wanted over half the squad gone now for years..

I think they do care, Winks looked furious at the final whistle, I mean I would care… hugely… but that doesn’t mean I’d actually be any good!

Polishing turds.

The game with no match thread was bloody awful in the extreme. My eyes are still burning.

I’ve never seen a manager so un-animated on a touchline in my life. I’m screaming at the screen for him to scream at the chumps on the pitch while he stands there with his arms folded puffing out his cheeks occasionally. He’s a disaster signing.

The thing that makes angry is none of these bluffers, Ali, Winks, LoCelso & Sanchez seem interested in giving the 1st team something to think about. They don’t care. Ali – expressionless all game, no fight, no fire, no anger – completely phoning it in. Disgraceful

Throwing a genuine talent in with the washed-up dross like Dele, Winks (and slowly, I’m beginning to include Bergwijn, Gollini, and Davies in this group) can only go one way…

Scarlett won’t be exactly buoyed by this either. Seemed a non-league player today.

Levy’s rejects up for the world to see, or in the case of Doherty not even good enough for the Conference, or in the case of Sessegnon and Clarke just disappeared off the face of the planet. I don’t want that little twerp ever allowed near player acquisition again. He might as well pour our money down the drain.

Yes he’s been disappointing aside from a spell with Jose, but there have been 3 managers in that time which haven’t helped. He played 90 on Sunday so now seems fit.

Gil is a better player. We need a strong and dominant midfielder with creativity. Lo Celso ain’t it. Ndombele’s problem is his attitude. I’d get rid. We can get better players. Milinkovic-Savic or Gravenberch for me.

Can’t agree re Lo Celso, but seems that I’m in a minority here. Him and Ndom are two peas in a pod – there are great players in there, but we can’t seem to get that greatness out of them consistently.

Aside for the CB’s and youngsters this lot need clearing out as deadwood. Their performances have proven they are just not good enough. That includes Lo NoShow who is now worth a fraction of what we paid for him.

Sadly Kane at his age and with his record will get injured. Dane doesn’t seem good enough for the Conf. League let alone prem. We need 2 more strikers ideally. Or suffer the consequences in more failure – Levy’s speciality.

Levy won’t sanction buying anyone if he can find the slightest excuse; “why do we need a striker We’ve got Kane locked up now for this season”.

Have we had a shot on target (or of any kind)?

It kind of smarted when the commentators mentioned our “unforgettable” night at Ajax…two years ago. In two years to this. Not my kind of jam tomorrow.

Dele is utterly pointless. I really can’t stress this enough.
