Report: Tottenham Hotspur is in talks with Wolves over Adama Traore

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to strengthen their squad this January transfer window, and one name that’s linked to the north London club is Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traore.

According to ESPN, Spurs are in talks with Wolves to sign winger Traore in a deal that could be worth around £20-million. The report states that the 25-year-old is keen on a move to Tottenham.

Furthermore, manager Antonio Conte wants the Spain international to improve his squad as they prepare to fight for a top-four spot for the remainder of the season.

Traore has 18 months left on his contract, so Wolves are ready to cash in on a player who sees his future elsewhere, considering that they’ll get less in the summer since he’ll have one year left on his deal.

FC Barcelona is another club interested in the Wolves player. Still, ESPN does add that Spurs are optimistic over their prospects of signing Traore, who Conte views as a prominent wing-back option in his preferred 3-4-3 system.

Signing a winger with no end product to replace a right back with no end product in the wing back position is a typical ENIC signing.

When every signing is scraping the bargain bucket and not fit for purpose, it’s no wonder they need to sell before they buy in every window.

If Poch went back, any shred of respect I had for him would evaporate.

I said the same thing weeks ago. Levy is a tosser who has no interest in footballing success. I hope for a Maxwell as was said previously. Ideally 2-4-1 with Uncle Joe going in the same jet ski accident.

Levy flying out to meet Uncle Joe? When’s that happening, it’s mid January and word of this emerged about two weeks ago. More rubbish I suspect.

I can see Conte going to Utd in the summer…

Conte will be gone in the summer. Just seen his press conference and he seems peed off with Levy and co, with the way they’re going about doing business.

Looks like Levy has done his typical spin, can’t wait for Conte NDA to end and hear again about Levy’s dealings.

The fact that Conte has only just had a meeting with Levy and Paratici about transfers and it’s nearly mid-January in which we play Chelsea three times and Arsenal with Leicester squeezed in between says everything to me, Nothing has changed. No ambition and Conte will be courted by Man Utd in the summer and Levy is still hoping to resign Pooch so we can have more of the same “I am appy with the squad” drivel reeled out ad nauseaum

I actually think would be a decent signing. Great if he converts to wing back, but also an option to rotate Moura. He’s powerful and direct and even if his goals/assists stats aren’t great then he’s good for a bit of “get the ball from our end to their end” action, which is a good start!

Nope, I’m relatively enthused too. Bearing in mind that we need to upgrade half a dozen positions in the shortest amount of time possible and don’t have £300m laying around I’d say he fits the bill.

Depending on what sources you believe, today we’ve apparently lodged bids for Traore, Lindgard, and Gianluca Scamacca.
One wonders if the recently reported Levy trip to the Bahamas was actually just him popping down to Lidl to pick up a few bits.

And it sounds like Bergwijn is staying for now. After a reported rejection of am 18m offer, Conte has apparently said he can count on him.

Mr Razo Conte never wanted Traore. please stop Enic/Levy spin and Propaganda of Conte wanting Traore and Tottenham is competing his signature with Barcelona and all that crap, Conte came out and said publicly he knows what he wants and made his assessment of the team meaning he done his homework and he said he is waiting to meet with Mr Baldy and Paratici etc and that meeting do not take place till now he also said Tottenham must meet his ambitions so now you want to tell us Conte’s ambition is Traore oh please have some sense at least.

I agree. He will be an improvement on what we have.Spurs will be effectively swapping him for Bergwjin in terms of what he will cost but he can play in Bergwjin’s role or as a wing back. It makes sense.

Traore will do well at Spurs in my opinion. In Conte’s system he can play at right wing back or in one of the attacking positions. He will need to score and create a few more goals than he has at Wolves but there is definitely something to work with in terms of what he can already do. He will be playing with better attacking players too. When he is in full flow, running at defenders, he is frightening. He may win a few pens for the team at the very least. Kane will be pleased.

The solution to our problems are going to take many windows to put right, it’s all been left to rot for too long.
As for Traore he can run about a lot so Rednapp probably would have liked him too.

If I ever get to be personal with Levy it’ll be all action and no words. I’ll slap his bald head so hard he won’t have a neck after.

It’s all about the bottom line for Levy.If he can shave of a pound or two he will haggle. It’s the same with Bergwijn who apparently is not required.Ajax want him and have offered a fair price considering, for whatever reason he,hasn’t worked out.

But Levy wants to break even on the fee so we will be left in a situation where nobody leaves and nobody comes in.

Same old same old.Bye bye Antonio.

he is by no means the solution to our problems but yes if Conte wants him, then you get him now rather than at the end of the window, esp if he needs to “adapt” to a new position.

Levy logic though…. IQ 200 plays

you can personally thank Levy for that

Why are we not pursuing Ward Prowess or someone with dead ball technique who knows how to take a free kick or corner because no one can at Spurs. This window is going the way every other window goes at lastminute.com. Trying to save a few pennies on deals while losing sight of the main prize and effects of points and semi-finals lost in the meantime. Yes Levy Sometimes you have to pay over the odds now to reap rewards later.

It’s all smoke and mirrors by Levy, get us so desperate to sign somebody so we’ll even accept a new RB who also has no end product and can’t cross like the present incumbent, but will get to the point of muffing his crosses much quicker and likely get fouled on the way.

Where is our recruitment/scouting? It appears Traore is the only footballer on the planet available

Am I the only person who quite likes this signing at a relative bargain price? He’s horrible to play against

Not a top four player which is what we should be aiming for. He has no end product and is as bad a crosser as Emerson and Aurier was. Substandard signing in a long list of them, all down to one man.

Traore as a WB is frightening, not in that position for me.

Wouldn’t it just be like us ( by us I mean Levy) for the window to close and yet hear stories how we will come back for Traore in the summer again.

Glory Costs Too Much

Just sign him for £20m and stop messing about. We’re 11 days into the window, we were after him in the summer but the price was too high. Now it’s halved. Just do it. He should be playing at the weekend instead of Son before he moves to RB. What does this nonsense gain us?
Why exactly did we employ Paratici? Too many chefs and not enough cooks at Spurs.
