Report: Tottenham have put an offer on the table for a Man City forward

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is in the market for scoring depth, considering the number of competitions they’ll be in next season. Spurs might want to lessen their dependency on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min as they can rely only on those two if they’re going to end their trophy drought.

One of the names linked to the north London club is Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, who is likely on the move this summer since Erling Haaland will be taking over the striker role.

With the Brazilian reportedly available, Tuttojuve reports that Tottenham has put a bid to beat out other clubs like Arsenal and Juventus in an attempt to land the 25-year-old.

According to the Italian media outlet, Spurs have a €47-million proposal for the forward. Jesus has one more year on his deal, so it will be interesting to see if Manchester City plays hardball in these discussions or will be keen on letting him go if a bid is in the neighborhood of what they want.

This past season, Jesus appeared in 41 fixtures, scoring 13 goals and recording 12 assists.

His ratings and numbers are no better than Moura. They don’t blow him out of the water because Moura has the higher average match ratings. They are very similar, both inconsistent, but both play different positions and different roles…
If we sign a striker to partner and also able to replace Kane then we need someone who is prolific. A striker like Martinez would be ideal…. Jesus is nowhere near good enough… City have got Haaland ffs we have to aim our sights higher to compete with the big boys.

Right. They will not sell a decent quality player to a PL rival that took all 6 points from them for any sort of fair price.

Totally agree. Been linked with Rashford too. Both fit what we need – someone who can with and instead of Kane.

Loads of football, what with Qatar too

Why would he be sitting on the bench? We have PL, CL, and two domestic cup competitions. We currently have three players for our front three (I discount Moura as he hardly contributes at all).

He is pretty much an ideal signing. Well, that type of player is. Any one of that front three can be rested, or if any get injured he slots in.

Not sure why he’s seen as a mercenary. Had 2 clubs in his career, and been at City 6

His contributions per minute are pretty good.

2232 minutes last season across PL and CL, and he got 12 goals and 9 assists. (For reference, a starter in the PL would get 3000+ minutes in the PL alone).

Problem has always been how often he plays. He is like their Moura. But he blows Moura’s numbers out of the water

So we don’t have a backup striker and basically 2 guys that can score and you are getting a winner that can play by himself or with a partner and you think he is not worth a chance. Tell me again how many striker partner or backup Kane has and how many trophies we won. No young talent is coming to Spurs to sit behind Kane who is logging more than 90 minutes per game. We need players that has been there like Perisic, not a kinder garten.

This cannot be true… A very sub par striker. Scores between 7 and 14 every season.. Man City usually play with no striker at all because this guy doesn’t produce the goods.. Why would Conte want him.

Can’t see him wanting to come and sit on the bench at Spurs when he is fresh from plucking out the splinters from City’s bench presumably on twice the bunce.

Just looks like an Arsenal signing, bit of the mercenary about him.

Think he’d be a useful addition for us…but can’t see it. He’s Arsenal.
