Tottenham has been listed as one of the teams that are considering a move for Real Betis midfielder, William Carvalho.
The Portuguese midfielder is an established international, and he has been playing for top European sides for much of his career.
His time at Real Betis might be coming to an end this summer with several teams in and around Europe looking to sign him.
Transfer20 claims that the midfielder is confident of being in the plans of Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini, but the Spaniards need to raise cash.
They have set an asking price of 25 million euros for his sale and that Leicester City is the team with the strongest interest even though that has changed somewhat after they failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Tottenham is possibly looking to sign him as they struggle to get a performance from Tanguy Ndombele at the moment.
Ndombele only joined Spurs last summer, but he has had an underwhelming first season.
The club wants to keep him for another season, but an offer that is too good to turn down might see them cash in on him and spend some of the money raised on Carvalho.
Mourinho may look to use his Portuguese influence to land the defensive midfielder.
A few seasons ago Carvalho was apparently in great demand and destined to be a big star.Something must have happened with him because he ended up with Betis an unconvincing loan at Circe Bruges. Not the highest of levels. At Betis he has made just 40 odd appearances in two seasons.
It would seem he is never going to realise his potential and it is significant that no big club is after him.Best swerved I think.
