Report: Tottenham among the Premier League clubs eyeing West Ham United starlet

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur could be looking to add a young forward with an eye on the future as the north London club is one of the Premier League rivals eyeing West Ham United’s talented youngster.

The Guardian reports that Aston Villa, Leeds United, and Spurs are all in on The Hammers’ Sonny Perkins. The 18-year-old made three appearances this past season for the senior squad, but with the U-23 team, Perkins scored 12 goals.

West Ham is working to persuade Perkins to sign a new contract, with his deal set to expire at the end of this month. However, the two parties are unable to agree on the wages for a new agreement.

According to the report, West Ham thinks Perkins is demanding too much money and is unlikely to break their wage structure to keep him. No further details on how much the forward wants in a new contract.

Leeds United want to grab the teenager to continue rebuilding their youth system by grabbing young talents from their Premier League rivals, but face stiff competition from Spurs and Aston Villa.

They got rid of Hitchen. Was he to blame?

The boy’s representatives knew about West Ham’s wage structure when he joined them so this is nothing but greed and disloyalty. Good luck to any club signing him as this action will no doubt be repeated.

That’s just poor scouting.

Chillax shipmates this is nothing to do with the 6 incoming this is just a punt on the future no fee involved.
However if he is asking more of Western Hammers than they can afford it makes you wonder if he is within our youth budget (wages).

Exactly. How often have we signed these young players, loaned them out and we end up never seeing them in a Spurs shirt?!

Why?Ask Levy how Jack Clarke worked out for us.

Now is not the time for hopeful young punts,Conte needs proven oven ready players for the rebuild.
