Jan Vertonghen could be set for a swift reunion with Christian Eriksen, with the London Evening Standard reporting that Inter Milan have made contact with the Tottenham defender about joining them in the summer.
The Belgian defender’s contract at Spurs is due to expire at the end of the season, as was Eriksen’s before he moved to the San Siro in January. The pair also spent several years together at Ajax, which is where Vertonghen had indicated he wanted to finish his career, as Standard Sport details.

However, he could be tempted by a swansong in Italy where new tax laws mean he could pocket much more at Inter than he does from his current£100,000-per-week deal at Spurs.
As well as Eriksen, Inter have also bought Ashley Young, Victor Moses and Romelu Lukaku from the lost property bins of the Premier League’s big six, with manager Antonio Conte familar with the league from his time at Chelsea.
Vertonghen seems more unlikely to sign a new Spurs contract with each passing day. The club have already committed to a long-term deal for Toby Alderweireld and have Japhet Tanganga coming through to add to the competition for Davinson Sanchez.
