Report: Spurs Might Sanction Troy Parrott Loan, On One Condition

By Joe Fish -

Troy Parrott will be allowed to leave Tottenham on loan before the close of the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

The 17-year-old is the only recognised striker on the books other than Harry Kane, but has made only two first-team appearances all season.

He has not even featured in a Premier League matchday squad since Kane’s injury which shows that Jose Mourinho isn’t ready to put his trust in the youngster, who is already a full Republic of Ireland international.

Sky Sports reports that Championship pair Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic are ready to give Parrott first-team exposure and that Spurs are happy for him to leave on loan, on one condition.

And no it isn’t that we bring in a striker first, although Parrott’s departure would surely intensify the hunt for targets such as Kryzsztoff Piatek.

The condition is that Spurs want Parrott to sign a new contract with the club first. He penned his first professional deal with us in February 2019, and I guess an extension on improved terms would make clear that any loan move that followed is for experience purposes only, and not an unwitting advert of his obvious talent to potential scouts from elsewhere.
