“Such A Joke” – These Spurs Fans Angry And Worried By Absentee For Saints Trip
By Joe Fish -

Jose Mourinho’s team selection for today’s FA Cup tie at Southampton provided lots of talking points for the Tottenham Twittersphere.

A full debut for Gedson Fernandes alongside Harry Winks, passed fit after limping off against Norwich, and the improving Giovani Lo Celso makes for an exciting midfield combination, with Tanguy Ndombele in reserve.

On the flip side, there is some concern about the use of Japhet Tanganga out of position again at left-back, after his struggles playing there at Watford.

Back to the positives – Mourinho has named close to his strongest available side for the fourth-round tie, in contrast to the unpopular approach of his predecessor. Toby Alderweireld, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli all start, and there is no place in the squad for the outgoing Christian Eriksen, at last.

But one thing that has really miffed some Spurs fans is the continued snub of Troy Parrott who is absent from even the bench despite Mourinho’s suggestions that the kid striker is on the verge of more first-team minutes.

These Spurs fans are worried we could lose him, if we don’t use him…

https://www.vipboxtv.se/str.. .haven’t tried it, suggested by someone earlier

  3. James McKevitt says:

Why haven’t we bought Lo Celso outright, what would happen if somebody offered a huge fee to his home club? Other clubs must be noticing his quality.

  4. Lilywhite without the II says:

    • Tappaspur says:

Swap Davies for winger Lucas then yep. All them drained out lot will be gone by this time next year. They’re all vex coz when the glory starts they won’t be part of it.

    • Jonathan Hurst says:

I’d keep lame mour and winks they can go in second wave if no improvement maybe not lame …

  5. Legoverlassarisen says:

Sitting back and waiting for the counterattack. Still lightweight in midfield. Moura is not a front man FFS. Ali is crap and needs hooking off. I know its early but I am not seeing anything particularly special about Fernandes. Ndomble and Lamela have got to come on.

  6. Urbane Sturgeon says:

Lo Celso looking good against half decent Prem sides. If he can put on performances like that against the better CL sides he’ll be well worth a contract.

  7. Is Gascoigne gonna have a crac says:

Another replay? Just what the doctor ordered.and Eastleigh couldn’t score one shat goal vs Maidenhead and lost me a 622 quid goalrush. W*nkers

  8. According to the 5 live commentator they kept giving the ball away in their own half. WTF!

  9. James McKevitt says:

    Wheres Eriksen?

  10. James McKevitt says:

Have to do things the hard way.

  11. Jonathan Hurst says:

    2 options
A)keep attacking stopping them from playing and keeping out tempo

B)defend and give them a chance and some oomph

    Er b?

  12. James McKevitt says:

Just what we need a replay.

  13. James McKevitt says:

Lucky Ings is below par. Get tight to Redmond.

  14. Lilywhite without the II says:

we need a midfield that can hold the ball..

  15. James McKevitt says:

    Stop these crosses.

  16. Lilywhite without the II says:

  34. James McKevitt says:

  35. Lilywhite without the II says:

If Winston Churchill was watching this he’d send in the spitfires….attack attack attack..!!

  36. Lilywhite without the II says:

Im liking Le Celso…needs better players around him..

  37. Eleventstonedidiots says:

Troy Parrott is not ready. Full stop. I agree with Jose’s stance on this. I saw him play for Ireland and ge looked like a teenager up against seasoned pro Winston Reid. Patience and faith in the club to do the right thing is the order of the day.

  38. Yay. The “LIVE” blog was an old headline, so we got comments from 6 months ago. Thank goodness this a professional operation.

  39. Winning Mentality says:

Son has been rubbish since returning from suspension. He seems hesitant on the ball…

  40. Jonathan Hurst says:

Anyone noticed son looks shocked mostly when he fouls someone

  41. Eddie says:

We have actually had some good breaks, but the finishing is really poor.

  42. James McKevitt says:

    Just been tangoed.

  43. Lilywhite without the II says:

    Tango!

  44. James McKevitt says:

Hugo looking to make one of his horrendous blunders.

  45. Eddie says:

    Lloris ffs

  46. James McKevitt says:

This is the keeper who conceded nine.

  47. Lilywhite without the II says:

    ohh dear Moura

  48. James McKevitt says:

Ah if we had a striker.

  49. James McKevitt says:

We’re waking up, getting up a head of steam. Tanganga is no left back.

  50. Lilywhite without the II says:

I’m sorry but Jose has made us worse..so painful and uninspiring to watch..

    • Tappaspur says:

He’s working with a dead bunch. No matter how he arranges them they’ll still look rubbish at the centre of the table. Droopy and withered

      • Tappaspur says:

Pretending to care doesn’t mean they do.

        • Lilywhite without the II says:

he needs time and players yes…however, theres nothing about us that gives hope, no improvement anywhere apart from sitting back to stop letting goals in to bore us to death..

    • Jonathan Hurst says:

Got to try and not be negative give him time

      • Lilywhite without the II says:

a need for patience yes….luckily ENIC thrive on it…unless they need a new marble floor…

  51. Eddie says:

Can’t cope with their press.Didn’t we used to do that?

  52. Lilywhite without the II says:

What have we become…a team that just sits off and watches the other team pass the ball around in the hope they make a mistake?!

  53. James McKevitt says:

Nice to see we haven’t lost our ability to start slowly.

  54. Lilywhite without the II says:

Not sure buying a Striker would make that much difference with this shambles..

  55. Lilywhite without the II says:

    This is Atletico Madrid right?!

  56. Lilywhite without the II says:

We are struggling, but no surprise there..

  61. Lilywhite without the II says:

    No yellow, f uck off

  62. Lilywhite without the II says:

Good start – we haven’t touched the ball yet but its still 0-0

  63. Lilywhite without the II says:

Good start – we haven’t touched the ball yet but its still 0-0

  64. James McKevitt says:

Interesting to see how we cope with the press from Southampton.

  65. James McKevitt says:

Was Harry Kane playing in the first team as a seventeen year old? No didn’t think so, let the manager make the decision.

  66. Urbane Sturgeon says:

Is this live match blog? Or is the last posted blog it? Or will there be another in a minute which will be it?

  67. ronan1882 says:

Could understand Parrot’s omission if the team had proven itself lethal in front of goal lately — or if there was even one recognised goalscorer on the bench.

    • East Stand says:

I agree that he should really be making the bench with no conventional striker as an option. Methinks Jose is aware of Levy’s tight fisted nature and backing the kid will give Levy an excuse to keep his cheque book in his pocket…

    • daytripper says:

Jose explained it in the news conference last week. He had a long talk with Parrott to get into his head – Jose thinks it would be quite unfair to put all this pressure on a 17 year old kid to try and fill the shoes of one of the best strikers in the world. He talked about how big the gulf is between Troy’s readiness for the pressure at 17 and Tanganga’s at 20.

      • Tappaspur says:

Just get him to boot up and go play. Won’t do him any harm. Worry about all the rest of it after. He’s not going to a space station to work on a broken bit. Its just a another game. He’ll tuck em away. Serve him. Clever little mover

      • ronan1882 says:

Ah missed that. May still be part of a strategy to get levy to do something though. He did bring parrot on against Burnley.
