Report: Spanish club hopes to swing loan deal for Tottenham winger Bryan Gil

By Eddie Razo -

Bryan Gil arrived this past summer from Sevilla as part of the agreement that saw £21.6-million and Érik Lamela head to the Spanish club. However, the 20-year-old has yet to establish himself with the Premier League club.

As a result, one club lurking hoping to make a deal with the north London-based club. According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona wants to work out an agreement for the winger who might second guess his decision to play in England.

The report details that newly appointed manager Xavi Hernandez wants to add a winger this January window, and Gil is one of the options the La Liga side is considering.

Barcelona isn’t in the best financial shape at the moment, which is why they’re hoping to use Gil’s inability to adapt to English football and swing a loan deal for him.

Whether Barcelona gets Gil or not will come down to manager Antonio Conte and whether or not he sees him as part of his plans.

A prime example is Vlahovic… He’s only 21.. Would love that guy… If conte wants a 50 year old Giroud then thats fine, but I would go for a young quality beast like Vlahovic if available all day long..

Thanks to the stadium revenue we will have more money than we have ever had to spend…It’s because of covid money has been tight on everyone.. We have the same model as Liverpool in place, now we have the right manager and I hope the right scout in Fab… There is nothing wrong with scouting and buying quality young players. Its about decent scouting.. Not ‘wasting millions looking for the next Messi’….. You talk a lot of drivel, and then twist my words to suit your dumb narrative….. Same as your claim Conte needs a shed load of money.. Botch averages more per player…… Diplomats, empty rooms what?

We don’t use wingers, but the option of having one in your squad should be a priority, the two I like are Lamptey at Brighton and Jeremy Doku 19 at Rennes.

There’s a winger playing for Celtic on loan from Benfica called Jota, real name Neves Filipe. He’s 24 ready to go, has a full box of tricks. He is quick can pass and link play, there is end product in other words and he can score.

There is a buy out option of £6 million which Celtic would love to take. No one knows what the player and Benfica have in mind though.

He is already better than any winger we have and that includes Lucas Moura. Give Benfica £10 million and I’d say you’d have a thirty or forty million pound player within a year.

Ever thought of getting a job as a diplomat Steve? You and Tappa could both start fights in empty rooms.
Any fool can see the team needs players for now not tomorrow, and with money being tight it’s all about priorities.
You think we should waste millions every window on the basis that we might just find the next Messi? Astounding. Like other teams would stand by and let us buy such a gem.

Lots of early developers in all sports who never improve after 17 or 18. Spurs dont seem to understand that. We need physically mature, experienced players with a good work ethic.

You can’t win anything with kids! Alan Hansen and then some… There’s nothing wrong with signing decent kids. All the top clubs scout young players around the globe. How old was Messi when Barca snapped him up?.. You live in cuckoo land.. Also Levy ‘guiding’ Paratici when it comes to his scouting just sounds ridiculous. The Bald one doesn’t scout players obviously.

35m that probably got us over the line for at least 2 deals.
Levy is a moron.

I recall many Spurs fans saying exactly the same things about Sessegnon and Clarke when they first come in and look what a waste of space those two have been.

We’ve really got to stop this nonsense of buying players for tomorrow, Levy seems mesmerized by so called alleged “wonderkids of the future” and just can’t seem to resist spending money on them. All a selling club have to do is say their latest kid is the new “insert name of star here” and Levy has an orgasm and throws money at the spotty faced youth. All these punts add up to a big and usually wasted investment and in the end its pouring lots of money down the drain in most cases. I hope one day Gil becomes a player, but I’m not holding my breath judging by our previous flops in this category.
We need to completely change tactics and start buying perhaps less, but more expensive established players for the now. Because whilst Paratici, who I have no doubt is “guided” by Levy, is buying these risks for the future the current team is going down the plug hole at an alarming rate. Levy needs to butt out of footballing matters COMPLETELY and that includes ordering Paratici to follow this dumb strategy which I just know he is doing (Gil and Sarr). ENOUGH.
Time to think of the now and not the future, that’s if you want your stadium filled up every week with happy punters Mr Levy, or perhaps you prefer to hear your name paraphrased with the word OUT echoing around the ground again?

He doesn’t look ready for the PL, bit of a headless chicken from what we have seen so far, a loan sounds right.

I like the boy he is incredibly talented and also incredibly raw.
I think Conte has shown his feelings on Bryan (and my boy Rodon as well unfortunately).
Conte wants Player X to come in and play from the off and really that is what us fans want. Sick of seeing W Ham doing so well in the Europa while we get beaten by (well they are not even at the standard of) FC Cheeky Lokomotiv Metallist Clnj
