Report: Son Could Walk If Pochettino’s Sacked By Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are growing concerned that Son Heung-Min could look to leave the club at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.

The exclusive report understands that Son’s future at Spurs may be tied to that of Mauricio Pochettino who is looking increasingly likely to leave.

If that were to happen – The Telegraph claim Pochettino could soon pay for Spurs’ poor start to the season – Son would apparently push for an exit.

The same Spurs source which told Football Insider this also believes that the South Korean has major doubts over whether the club can win trophies.

Losing Son would be a devastating blow. The 27-year-old has emerged as arguably our second most important player behind Harry Kane, scoring 28 goals since the start of last season including nine in the Champions League.

When we already face a future without Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen, it is imperative that the key players on long-term deals, Son is contracted until 2023 according to transfermarkt, are retained.

Pochettino’s close relationship with some players, notably Son and Kane, and the probable loss of Champions League football, may end up making next summer’s ‘rebuild’ even more painful than we were prepared for.

Lay off the Joe fish chap man. He maybe new in this stuff. He’s feeling his way in man. Joe fish. Do your ting whilst taking in the constructive criticism. I couldn’t do what you do so I have to respect ya. I’m struggling to write my Christmas cards.

“ENIC OUT? let’s be real that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon. The best we can hope for is levy rebuilding the team then giving the manager 2 upgrades every season (if needed) £100-150mil. Levy and Joe can stay (better the devil you know) if they do what good chairmen do (focus on the product)
All this stuff I hear about levy won’t back the next manager I don’t believe to be true. At the old place where the money was hardly rolling in levy had an excuse (no money) what excuse could be possibly have now. If we don’t get top four (disaster re signing top quality) this would be a lesson levy will learn from. Can’t see him not freshening up the team ever again coz it will lose him money in the long/short run as he’s about to find out. Any player we sign from now on who proves his worth will be rewarded according within first 18 months of his contract (pay rise) he must’ve learnt from this. I think we’ll see a different levy a more generous levy from now on. Anyway I still think 20202021 season is when we will truly start to rise as a trophy winning team. I really hope poch is still here by then. If Jose comes he’ll be gone within 3 years. He probably will have won some shiny in that time. A new progressive attack attack attack manager will come in after and will have to change our whole style back (right through the ages) to attacking “tottenham way” football. Nightmare.

Kane is obviously a better goal scorer but son is a better footballer.

I would rather keep son and have him rotating/competing with lucas for a starting place. Whoever does better, play in the tougher games.. Our rebuild/transition now has to be built around kane

Noone should be bigger than the club.. If son stepped up and scored a hat trick in last years final then he would have arguably the most coveted trophy in domestic football.. Son scores some outstanding goals, but can be wasteful and snowflake ish at times.. He is one of our key players, but definitely not the end of the world.. It will be if kane decides to go though

With Moaninihio biding his time before his next assignment, having received that dreaded vote of confidence from the West Ham Board, with both managers fearing the axe, the stakes for beating West Ham in this crunch encounter on Saturday seemingly could not be higher!!

My favourite player. That said, he’s the sort of player who deserves to be winning things.

I would be gutted – love watching Son play, but I doubt he will be the last to go if poch does.
