There are a handful of fixtures left in the 2021-22 season, and although Tottenham Hotspur finds itself in a top-four race, the north London club is thinking about 2022-23. As a result, manager Antonio Conte is ready to make significant changes to the squad.
According to The Telegraph, the Italian tactician has made his transfer demands to improve his team. Conte is keen on adding a center-back, a right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward, and a backup goalkeeper.
Furthermore, the Spurs boss wants Dejan Kulusevski permanently before his 18-month loan expires. Regarding possible targets, the report details that names like West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, Nottingham Forest’s Djed Spence, Torino’s Gleison Bremer, and Brentford’s Christian Eriksen are ones that Spurs have their eyes on this summer.
One possible target to fill the need at forward is Marco Asensio, who has one more year left on his contract after this season. Despite the ongoing discussions with Real Madrid, the 26-year-old has decided to switch agents ahead of what could be a departure if he doesn’t like what Los Blancos are offering.
Calciomercato.com reports that Asensio has hired Jorge Mendes to handle his representation and the Portuguese agent has a lot of heavy hitters as clients, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ederson, and João Félix. The report also states that Mendes would like his new client to head to London.
Along with Tottenham, Arsenal and AC Milan are in the mix to land the Real Madrid forward.
