Report: Real Madrid preparing to swoop in and steal Tottenham transfer target

By Eddie Razo -

The midfield is an area that Tottenham Hotspur hopes to improve this summer, and there have been plenty of names connected to the north London club. One player to recently surface is Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, who’s keen on leaving The Foxes.

With only one year left on Tielemans contract, Leicester City likely will be looking to recoup a fee for the Belgium international. As Premier League rivals prepare to jump on the chance of landing the 24-year-old, there’s another club in the mix.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri tweeted, the latest club to jump in the race is Real Madrid, and they plan to position themselves for a possible move in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, despite the clubs from the top six eyeing him, Tielemans prefers a move to Spain; as a result, Los Blancos could have the upper hand on this file.

When it comes to a possible transfer fee for the midfielder, Transfermarkt puts his value at £50-million, but with one year on his deal, that asking price might be lowered, especially since Leicester City might not want to lose Tielemans on a free transfer.

Tielemans has indeed been disappointing so don’t know how much he would bring, Maddison is creative but appears a little lightweight to me but with Hoj and Bentancur beside him then maybe.

I think he has been pretty average this season as has Maddison.Maybe we did well to miss out on them previously. There are probably better and cheaper options available.
