Report: Newcastle United keen on landing Tottenham loanee if he doesn’t sign with Celtic

One Tottenham Hotspur loanee that often gets lost in the shuffle of players that are out of north London temporarily is Cameron Carter-Vickers. The 24-year-old is on loan to Celtic FC and is wrapping up a successful stint with the Scottish football giants.

Celtic has an option to buy Carter-Vickers, but the United States international’s form isn’t going unnoticed by some Premier League clubs, and SBI Soccer reports Newcastle United has joined the list of teams interested in landing Carter-Vickers this summer.

According to the report, The Magpies wanted to secure the defender last year but could not strike a deal. However, now it seems as though they want to revisit their interest in Carter-Vickers.

When it comes to a transfer fee Newcastle United might need to pay it might be the price Celtic has on the option to keep the defender, which is roughly an initial fee of £6-million with add-ons taking the total cost of the deal to £10-million.

With respect, I think moneybags Newcastle can probably aim a bit higher than this!
