Report: Manchester United, Tottenham vying for Valencia goalkeeper

By Eddie Razo -

Hugo Lloris extended his deal with Tottenham Hotspur, which will keep with the north London club until 2024. However, Spurs might have an eye on the future in two years and could be lining up a possible long-term replacement.

According to Marca, Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is the subject of interest from the Premier League club. The 21-year-old appeared in 23 fixtures for the Spanish club, registering ten clean sheets while conceding 24 goals.

Valencia and Tottenham have a good relationship following the Bryan Gil loan deal. It will be interesting to see if a possible deal for the Georgian goalkeeper might include Gil.

Nonetheless, Spurs aren’t the only club from England having their eyes on the young shot-stopper. The Spanish media outlet adds that Manchester United is also interested.

Valencia needs to sell €70-million to balance their budget, so if an offer from Tottenham meets the La Liga side’s asking price, then a deal could likely occur.
