Tottenham Hotspur will be in the market to upgrade their wing-back roles this summer, and it appears as though rather than getting a young player, manager Antonio Conte wants a veteran who knows what he expects.
According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are closing on a deal with Ivan Perisić, which has been in the works since Monday. The 33-year-old wants to predict the final green light as he’s now ready to accept a two-year deal and join on a free transfer.
Romano adds that the Croatian winger is one step away from heading to north London and is waiting for his communication to Inter Milan. Perisić would reunite with Conte, as both won Serie A during the 2020-21 season.
Perisić made 49 appearances this past season, scoring ten goals and recording nine assists in what could be his last campaign with Inter Milan, and it seems a move to Tottenham is on the verge of completion.
He’s got an age related injury atm though 😉
Be nice to get three low fee signings wrapped up before the serious business of the three or four big fee signings.
Whats clear is at least half our signings this summer will be players Conte has worked with before.
Get it done please.Dont be put off by his age i watched him this year a few times and he never stopped running.
