Report: Everton makes approach for Tottenham midfielder looking for fresh start

By Eddie Razo -

While Tottenham Hotspur has made additions this early in the summer transfer window, the north London club will soon have to begin offloading players, and one of them is midfielder Harry Winks.

The 26-year-old couldn’t get into regular playing time under manager Antonio Conte. Also, with the recent additions of Rodrigo Bentancur in January and now Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion, the midfield competition is only intensifying.

As a result, Winks might be looking to kick start his career at a new club, and Football Insider reports that Everton has made contact over the idea of adding him to their squad.

Winks is reportedly a priority for The Toffees this summer. Still, the information provided by the media outlet doesn’t state how much Everton wants to spend to bring the midfielder to Goodison Park.

Nonetheless, it states that Tottenham values Winks at around the £20-million mark. Furthermore, the England international has two more years left on his contract, so a loan move could be possible if no agreement on a permanent deal can be completed.

Of course he’s not. We’ll be lucky to get half that and only because he’s homegrown.

Unless we draw PSG in the CL and Winks can slide tackle Messi again, there really is no place for him in the squad with Bissouma and a healthy Skippy. Maybe we can sell him to Brighton for 20m- they can use a CDM. Wouldn’t that be a fantastic swap?

Some journo was saying he has never been the same since that major injury and he is constantly playing with pain.
I hope he passes the Everton medical.

His Spurs career did ‘stall’ after such a wonderful start. Hpromised so much , a lengthy international future lay ahead but somehow he became an inferior Ray Wilkins / Steve Perryman type of possession based player . A lot to like style-wise but no ‘real’ substance .
My heart knows he’s ‘Tottenham’ , probably always will be , but he might take his game to another level if he moves on .
Goood Luck Harry , I hope you find again that early promise………….it would be a difficult battle to remain .
