Report: Enquiries Made For 21yr old Juventus Star

By Joe Fish -

Tottenham Hotspur have made enquiries over a possible January move for Juventus defender Merih Demiral, according to Bleacher Report.

The 21-year-old only joined Juve from Sassuolo in July, but has made just a single Serie A appearance for ex-Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri.

That is not a damning indictment of his ability, with Leonardo Bonucci and Matthijs de Ligt the starting centre-back partnership for the Old Lady.

But regardless of the star power in front of him in the pecking order, Bleacher Report understands Demiral is eager to play and is growing frustrated enough to consider a quick exit from the Italian champions.

Spurs have apparently “touched base” with representatives of the Turkey international who is also of interest to Manchester United and Arsenal.

We know that Jose Mourinho is going to be in the market for a defender, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen out of contract in the summer.

If Demiral is half as good as the last obscure Turkish defender that was signed by a Premier League club then we should snap him up ASAP.
