Report: Daniel Levy set to sanction major squad overhaul – Seven first-team players to be put up for sale

Daniel Levy is set to sanction a major squad overhaul in the summer ahead of the imminent appointment of Ange Postecoglou.

The Celtic boss who completed a domestic treble on Saturday is said to have agreed personal terms with Tottenham and the two clubs have come to an agreement over his compensation as well.

All reports suggest that he is set to take over the vacant role at Tottenham with Fabrizio Romano even giving the deal his signature “here we go”.

The Australian is expected to bring a new identity and playing style to the club, completely different from that of the previous managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

And as part of the summer rebuild, The Telegraph reports that “as many as seven first-team players” could be put up for sale.

Hugo Lloris is on top of the list with the Frenchman pretty much confirming his desire to leave in the summer. He is linked with a return to his hometown club Nice.

Ivan Perisic is another player who Spurs will be open to let go despite only signing him last summer. He was an Antonio Conte signing brought into play the wing-back role he played so well at Inter Milan under the Italian.

But with Conte gone and the club unlikely to use the wing-back role under the new manager, his future remains uncertain with suggestions that he is unhappy and could return to Inter Milan in the summer.

Unlike Conte’s three at the back, the Australian is likely to use his preferred 4 defenders which means the club will have a couple of centre-back who could be on the chopping block.

The report claims that while Davinson Sanchez is pretty much set to be sold after yet another disappointing season, the club could also be open to sell the likes of Eric Dier and Ben Davies if they receive bids for the two. It also suggests the Clement Lenglet could return to Barcelona as well.

It further mentions that the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, and Sergio Reguilon, who failed to impress Conte and spent last season on loan, may also be moved on by the club.

A lot of Postecoglou’s success at the Tottenham will depend on how much financial backing and time he is given by the owners.

This summer transfer window will be crucial for Levy to make the right decisions and reshape the squad.
