Report: Chelsea target ‘wants to join Spurs’ before deadline day; will ‘wait until next summer’ if he has to

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to 90min, Adama Traore is interested in joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer ahead of Wolves’ deadline on Thursday – with the player’s contract expiring next summer.

Traore, 26, has returned to Wolves following a loan spell at his former club Barcelona. He failed to score a single goal in 17 appearances at the Nou Camp during the second half of last season.

He is in the final year of his contract at Molineux. He has only appeared as a substitute in two of Wolves’ four Premier League games so far, against Fulham and Tottenham. Traore did not play against Newcastle.

According to the report, Wolves are ready to ‘price Traore out of a deal’. The 26-year-old ‘wants to move to Spurs’ and is willing to wait until next summer if necessary’ to leave on a free transfer.

Spurs had been interested in the Wolves winger for some time, but he was snatched up by his former club Barcelona in January for a loan deal. That homecoming did not go as planned, and he was forgotten by the Catalan giants as they moved on to bigger targets, opting not to make his move permanent.

It was reported earlier this month that Spurs have reignited their interest in the speedster with London rivals Chelsea also interested in him. But as the deadline day looms, it looks as if Traore will have to wait out a year before Spurs finally sign him. Unless there is some major activity on deadline day.

Haven’t seen much of Bissouma yet..hard to make a judgement .unlike Traore ..who isn’t good enough for Wolves .

If it’s for the reported £10m I’d say that’s a decent signing with resale value. If we could get the money back for Royal that’s about £15m profit. And frankly I’d prefer Traore in that WB position. An upgrade IMO, though I think the ideal scenario is a straight swap between Royal and Carrasco

I checked him out on youtube. Looks similar to Zlatan if you ask me. Interesting player

Fofana confirmed at £74m. Leicester and Ajax are laughing all the way to the bank. We’re not talking about Zidane or Bale here. Brighton are probably laughing at us. They knew all along Caicedo was better than Bissouma

Given that Wolves have just signed Sasa Kaladjic from Stuttgart, the new 2 Metre Peter (Crouch)..why would they be offloading their super fast beefcake winger could it be that his end product is sh#t ?

He would find a friend in Royal…I don’t get it either ..Kulu and Charlie seem to provide assists ..not sure why we seemingly want a player who doesn’t…Wolves looking to offload if you ask me.

before he left for Barca you could understand the excitement , as clumsy as he sometimes appeared he also brought an electricity to an audience . Defo, the Prem Clubs would have a strategy to defend against him .
Sadly his subsequent ‘failure ‘ at Barca has removed the mystery – he is what he is , a very fast right-footed winger who lacks composure in the final 3rd , sadly that dont reek of consistency and he will find it difficult at the very top level , you gotta be able to kick a ball in a straight line [ a fundamental ] There’s better out there …………….

He is VERY different to Moura, but sure you’re allowed not to rate him

We have moura off the bench. This lump offers nothing more.

Yep, it’s the spammers cup final tonight. Their fans will demand 100% from the team. So will be a tough game.

6pts from West Ham and Fulham is a lot to ask, achieve that and we’re really motoring

Somehow I fear a 3-4pt return

Watched a lot of Wolves games where he was by far the standout player on the pitch

But he never cemented his position in their starting 11, blows hot and cold

No idea if he’d perform at Spurs but he’s certainly something different

Traore had his chances he threw it away. We dont need traore . Weve good players on the bench n Conte made some good summer signings .

There’s as much chance of this happening as Dan James joining us and if either of these players do come, that will define our ambition.

Yep…Conte could well have viewed that as a snub.

I suspect his goose is cooked… he, perhaps understandably knocked back Spurs for Barcelona in January.. so this I really want to join is just hogwash..
