Report: Chelsea plans to swoop in and steal RB Leipzig’s £27M talent from Tottenham

By Eddie Razo -

Upgrading the left center-back role is something Tottenham Hotspur will attempt to do this summer. Playing with a backline of three, the north London club is set with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier.

The Athletic recently shared the list of targets that Spurs intend to pursue to upgrade the position currently occupied by Ben Davies. The Premier League club had to cross off Freiburg’s Nico Schlotterbeck, who’s now joining Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs might be on the verge of crossing off another player from the list. Goal reports that Chelsea has circled RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol as a replacement for the outgoing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Despite the interest, if Tottenham has the 20-year-old as their top target, then the current situation with The Blues could help them lay the groundwork to pursue Gvardiol.

The Blues cannot adequately prepare for the summer until their new owners take over from Roman Abramovich, as discussions remain ongoing.

When it comes to a possible asking price, Transfermarkt puts his value at £27-million, but with two Premier League clubs interested, the price could increase.

Chelsea need an entire new defence near enough, if they get the all clear to spend we’ll have competition for players.

Am not sure why people are so concerned about Dier. He has improved, took some time, but once he cut the brain farts we are set, yes. Another quality back will help. My point is regardless of what the fans think, managers after managers put their Conte-dence in him. Where we need strengthen is getting a creative mid and a quality striker to compete with Kane. I said go get Martinez. IMO the lack of quality on the bench is where the problem lies. The balance in the squad is so bad when you only have 2 attackers in Lucas and Stevie. The wingbacks need upgrade, so sell Reggie if Madrd wants him back even at a fee less than previously agreed. Royal and Doherty, I would be shock if any one inquire about them. Obviously the effort should be to balance the squad especially where we have an abundance in the midfield. Am a bit worried we will lose PEH only because we cannot keep trotting out 2 holding mids. There will be no room in Conte 343 system for him. To be real, it does not matter what competition either him or Rodrigo needs to be paired with a creative mid. Will he be ok being a bit part player?

I think half of the articles are just copied and pasted from last summer.

As I understand it,Chelsea cannot buy or sell until the sale is completed, except for players whose contract expires in the summer.

So these alleged links are pure media speculation, which in this case could help us,providing Levy doesn’t get up to his silly games.I won’t hold my breath.

If that report from Sky is 100% correct then they are in even deeper shizzle.
Saint Roman wants his £1.5bn loans paid back to a bank account in Jersey.
So as we stand as of now there are 2 choices

  1. The UK Govt. bans this action (surely it puts the price up by £1.5bn as well?)
  2. Saint Roman pulls the sale of the shizzle club.

Is that the Chelsea that doesn’t have an owner and can’t sell tickets or another one?
