Report: Chelsea, Man United challenging Tottenham for Inter Milan defender

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is hoping to improve its backline this summer. Cristian Romero and Eric Dier occupy two of the three spots, so they want to add another player to go with the duo.

Over the past few months, there have been many names linked to Spurs to fill this need on the squad. However, the number one target for this role is Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, as it seems manager Antonio Conte wants a reunion.

However, the north London club will have to beat out fellow rivals in the Premier League to add the 23-year-old. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Italian Football TV), Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on adding Bastoni this summer.

Inter Milan is open to letting the Italy international this summer if a club meets their asking price of €60-million. This past season, Bastoni appeared in 44 fixtures for the Serie A side, scoring one goal and recording three assists.

Why when talking about defenders do we always hear about their goals scored and assists?
How about clean sheets and avg tackles won? Or something like that?

I said before Bastoni would take a lot of persuading to come here, due to the fact he does not wish to leave Milan, but anyway…

There is no proof whatsoever that Chelsea and Man U are interested in Bastoni and even less chance that they would be able to sign him, if we were seriously interested in him, due to the Conte connection. Hence, typical tabloid lies, that can be studiously ignored.
