Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies could be poised for a lengthy spell on the sidelines with the injury which caused him to miss last night’s Champions League win over Olympiacos, reports Press Association Sport.
The Wales international limped off late in Saturday’s 3-2 win over West Ham United, and was replaced by Danny Rose for the visit of the Greeks.
Jonathan Veal of PA Sport briefly caught up with Davies in the mixed zone after the match, and his assessment of his own injury was pretty gloomy.
Ben Davies comes through the mixed zone on crutches and a protective boot. “It doesn’t look good. It will be a while,” he said #THFC #COYS

We await official word from Spurs on the specificity or severity of the 26-year-old’s problem, although the club are notoriously vague in this regard.
Davies will be gutted, having been given the nod over Danny Rose for Mourinho’s first game in charge he was set for a run as our first-choice left-back.
We are fortunate that we have plenty of options to cover that position – Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Ryan Sessegnon and even Kyle Walker-Peters if necessary.
It would be disappointing to be without Davies for the busiest part of the season but the prospect of seeing more of Sessegnon helps make up for that.
ok – fair enough
Our best left back has passed his best.
Completely unnecessary with that headline given he is a club legend and an England international going through a rough patch. He is our best left back.
Sessy is a attacking defender winger. That boy gonna come good trust Me
We’ll have to buy a new one then. Sessy verts and KWP can play left back. Verts and KWP play left back for their countries.
Yet to decide if he requires surgery.
Have you been watching Danny Rose, if not take another look, but take off the tinted , and Sessy is not a LB either.
Ben Davies lengthy spell out. This isn’t bad news.
For very tenable below
I’ve seen average attackers leave him for dead. I don’t rate him as a first team player at all. He can strike a ball well though. Rubbish. Low grade. Get rid. There isn’t a player in the league that says “gonna be a tough game at Tottenham next week what with Ben Davies at left back. Other managers will target our left side. ” attack them there
He’s not a wing back and does better in a flat back four. Underrated in my opinion.
Davies should be playing for Norwich. Rubbish. Defender with no pace in a fast attacking league. Poch gave him 5 years😂😂
No medic – but the boots can just be to protect a twisted ankle sometimes. They don’t always signify bad as they are so cheap for clubs now.
Plus, may see some Sessy action.
