Report – Bid made for young Tottenham international from Championship club

By Bruce Grove -

USA international and Tottenham centre-back, Cameron Carter-Vickers is a subject of interest from Bournemouth and the Cherries have submitted a loan bid for his signature, according to Football Insider.

The defender spent last season out on loan, initially at Stoke City and then at Luton Town.

He thrived at the latter team as they battled hard to avoid relegation with him as a key player.

They want to take him back on a permanent transfer, but they will struggle to afford his transfer fee as well as his wages.

Football Insider claims that the 22-year-old has been told by Spurs that he is free to look for a new team before this transfer window closes.

The Lilywhites have been patient with him as he developed his game at the club, but at his current age, he should have already broken into the first team.

Now that he hasn’t, it will be best for the club to get rid of him and he has an expiring contract with them too.

Bournemouth has just been relegated from the Premier League and they hope to get back in the big time, sooner rather than later.

Spurs will favour a permanent transfer as they look to finally offload him, it remains unclear if they will sanction another temporary move away for Carter-Vickers.

Bournemouth can afford to buy him with Callum Wilson going to Newcastle for £20m,no to another loan.

Agree. He doesn’t seem up to the quality needed. He didn’t look great in pre season and we already have sanchez who has difficulty controlling the ball, we don’t need another. Tanganga and even Foyth are much better. He might improve but I don’t think he’ll improve enough to make a top Premier League defender.

Bournemouth on a permanent would be a good move for him.
