Tottenham Hotspur is hoping to upgrade their backline this summer, and this week the name that was heavily linked to the north London club is FC Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.
Barcelona is attempting to offload players to free up wages to improve their squad, and Lenglet has no future at the Camp Nou. According to a recent report, the north London club is interested in a loan deal; however, they aren’t the only ones keen.
Nonetheless, they aren’t the only Premier League club eyeing the France international defender. The Times reports that Arsenal has been offered the opportunity to sign Lenglet.
Spurs might have the advantage over their north London rivals because they can offer the 25-year-old an opportunity to play UEFA Champions League next season.
Furthermore, Tottenham is willing to take on the defender’s entire wages, which would favor them in a possible deal as the Spanish club trims down its squad for the 2022-23 campaign.
Clement Lenglet ..made for Arsenal ..I don’t think he is good enough for the EPL..dont want to be duped by the Barca shirt again folks..
