Report: Ajax has an interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s Steven Bergwijn

By Eddie Razo -

The January transfer window is a few weeks away from opening. As Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte evaluates the squad, the Italian tactician is figuring out which players he wants to cut bait.

One player that doesn’t appear to have a future with the north London-based club is winger Steven Bergwijn. As a result, Spurs likely wants to part ways with the 24-year-old, and it appears as though they might have a buyer.

According to De Telegraaf (via Football Oranje), AFC Ajax plans to pursue Bergwijn this January. The Dutch media outlet states that the Spurs winger would be a possible replacement for David Neres if the Brazil international depart in the coming weeks.

It’s clear that Bergwijn has no future at Tottenham, and the club should cut their losses and get whatever they can for the winger. January should allow them to begin cleansing the squad of players that Conte will not be giving an extended look for the remainder of the season.

Have to understand some of these players were hired on the back of a CL final and thought they were joining a team that was guaranteed Top 4 every season.
Any player thinking of joining THFC should demand half an hour with the complete clown Hitchen a ride, before they sign.
Captain Bligh ans a Sea of Fools..I have absolutely no doubt Bergwijn will do elsewhere in a dressing room without the Levy Babes undermining everything ANY coach tries to achieve…you know who you are..

The guy spends more time taking selfies in his car than he does playing on the pitch. Bin the Dutch Dele.

When Moura is keeping you out….he’s not good enough. He’s effectively bottled it at Spurs, finishing woeful.

Think he might be an easier one to shift in that I think he’ll quite fancy a move and he’s shown he’s still got quality from his international performances.

Cash in and get in a Conte signing.

I actually take the view that he’s one that has potential to improve, he works hard and seems to press well, just needs a bit more quality in his decision making and end product.

Although he needs moving on,Levy will likely price him out of a move .This probably applies to most of the players we know are rubbish and we will see them still with us in February and in the summer unless their contracts expire by then.

Makes sense. He doesn’t seem happy or settled at Spurs. Put him out of his misery.
I do hope the powers that be are clever when it comes to the January transfer window. I’d loan out Gil & Rodon, they seriously need some game time and have had little or no impact this season.
