Reliable journalist claims Daniel Levy has a change of heart regarding star player – transfer now likely

By Mehdi Gokal -

Daniel Levy is now reportedly open to selling Harry Kane in the summer, as reported by Dean Jones.

According to Jones (via GiveMeSport) , ‘well informed’ sources inside the club believe that the Tottenham chairman is now warming up to the idea of selling Kane to Manchester United in the summer.

Jones writes Levy has always been against the idea of selling the star player to a rival but now ‘for the first time’ it seems like a ‘deal can happen’.

Tottenham seem to be in shambles at the moment. No only are they going through an injury crisis, they are also out of all domestic and European competitions dashing any chances of winning a silverware.

They are also struggling with form having lost to Wolves in the league and with Liverpool breathing behind them, a top 4 finish seems like a challenge as well.

There seems to be off the pitch problems brewing too with their club record signing Richarlison coming out and slamming the manager in public. This is worrying as it suggests that Conte is starting to lose the dressing room.

And on top of that, there seems to be a lot of uncertainty around the managerial situation too. Conte is most likely set to leave at the end of the season with no talks of a contract extension.

Keeping all of the above in consideration, it will not at all be surprising why Harry Kane would want out and move to a club with more chances of winning a silverware.

Manchester United are also said to be monitoring the situation and according to Jones are ready to tempt the player and the club by making an initial offer.

Financially it will make sense for Spurs to sell Kane this summer otherwise they will risk losing him on a free next year.

Bayern Munich are also interested in signing him as per Jones and he believes that they will be ready to pay a fee in the region of £80m for him. It is the sort of fee Spurs can expect for him with the player only having one year left in his contract.

Spurs have also started looking at long-term replacement for Harry Kane with the club linked with a number of strikers, most recently with Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic. They also sent scouts to watch RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko on the weekend.
