Real Madrid are keeping close tabs on Tottenham star who has been ‘incredible’ in the World Cup

Real Madrid are on the lookout for a new striker and, according to Spanish media, are eyeing Spurs striker Richarlison.

Richarlison has been outstanding for Brazil in Qatar. He’s already scored two goals, including an ‘incredible‘ acrobatic effort. And his incredible performance has started attracting some of the big clubs in Europe, Real Madrid in particular.

Richarlison is among the potential signings being considered by Los Blancos, according to Defensa Central.

The report states that Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for their number 9 Karim Benzema, and Richarlison is one of the names being considered. Their President Florentino Perez is also said to be interested in another World Cup star, Cody Gakpo, as reported by Defensa Central.

Of course, Tottenham only signed Richarlison this summer, so selling him seems unlikely. However, Madrid has shown in the past that they are willing to spend big money. But if they fail to sign Kylian Mbappe again, they may make a move.

The Brazilian is one of the highest-earning players at the club and according to The Mirror, he earns £133k-a-week, only behind the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Ivan Perisic and Cristian Romero.

Despite the likelihood that the report is false, Antonio Conte will not be pleased if it is. Spurs should prioritise building a strong squad over selling big names. If he can replicate his World Cup form in the league, he could be a real game-changer for Conte when the World Cup resumes.
