“Ready to suffer” – Son Heung-min, Spurs eye to win the FA Cup

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has one other opportunity to win some silverware as they enter the fifth round of the FA Cup with their matchup against Middlesbrough FC looming.

Spurs are fighting to finish in the top four in Premier League, but this competition is all they have to win a trophy, and Son Heung-min is ready “ready to suffer” to win the FA Cup this year.

The 29-year-old spoke to the media at a news conference, where The Athletic relayed his remarks ahead of their FA Cup fixture. Son states that everyone in the squad wants to win this piece of silverware.

“Everyone wants to win,” Son said. “Everyone does. To win a trophy, you need to suffer a lot. I play for the win. I want to enjoy playing football, but at the end of the days, there’s a winner and a loser. Who suffers more, I think, wins. It means a lot for me.

“I’m going to work hard and play hard for myself, for the club. I can’t say what it means to win a trophy for this club. It’s going to be incredible, but we need to suffer a lot. I’m ready to suffer in every game. I will try my best like I always do.”

After an impressive victory over Leeds United, Tottenham hopes to use the win to get a positive result over Middlesbrough to advance to the next round of the competition.

Spurs hope to avoid another scenario where they fall flat on their face following a win last week when they defeated Manchester City but lost to Burnley, a club fighting relegation.

This is always the tone from Son it’s never changed, I too wonder what changes Conte will make to the team tonight, that’s my concern.
