Tottenham has made a fine start to this Premier League season, and their 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday has placed them at the top of the standings.
The Lilywhites spent well in the summer transfer window and with Jose Mourinho as their manager, there was always the possibility that they would challenge for the Premier League title.
But the last three Premier League seasons have been contested by Manchester City and Liverpool and both teams remained favourites, heading into this campaign.
Spurs have, however, made such a good start that a good few football fans now consider them one of the favourites for the league title.
The always talking Gary Neville is the latest pundit to mention Tottenham as a team that can challenge Liverpool for the league title.
He claimed that the injury to Virgil van Dijk will affect the Reds’ title challenge, and Spurs alongside Chelsea have the chance to go for the title.
‘Is it a season where Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard being up against each other in a title race?,’ Neville said Mail Online.
‘I thought Liverpool would run away with it, but not now, not with the Virgil van Dijk injury. That’s the one that is the game changer and exposes them a lot more.’
